I think the point is how heavy handed you are as an Admin. You used to have a sense of humor, albeit it a warped one. I don't recall so many posts being edited, or locked by previous Admins.

This is a truckers forum and IRL life there are a lot of truckers who are far from politically correct, if you know what I mean. If someone is offended by the direction a post is taking they always have the option of NOT READING it, but to censor everything you don't like is going a little too far. BTW I notice "Coolie Carrier" is no longer off limits so I'm guessing all of the Chinese truckers have left the site. :p Or is Bel just one of the Fave 5? :smokin:

What's a "coolie carrier?":smokin:

Exactly! Despite the self-appointed License Police. It may have escaped your notice, but there have been many people who came here to do their homework prior to obtaining their Class A license. And their questions and comments are as relevant as yours. There are also posters here who no longer drive. Is their knowledge of the industry no longer valid? Myth Buster comes to mind. Referring to posters who do not have a current Class A as posers is derogatory and uncalled for.

I could be wrong, but I think he was referring to one person in particular.

And FYI, the above thing you mention is one of the reasons Big Diesel got the boot.

You would be correct. Everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) was given a clean slate by me. I personally think that's one of the reasons I was given so much heat when I first started as an admin, because everyone who was complaining was basing their opinion off of past actions. I wasn't. I felt that if I were to do so, it would be extremely hypocritical of me. But that didn't stop members from calling me a hypocrite anyway. Oh well. I tried.

I've locked very few threads. Generally, the only time I will lock a thread is when it is either so far gone that it can't be saved, or the purpose of the thread was an attack in the first place. The same goes for posts. If a post only serves to attack someone, it's going to get edited. If it can't be saved, it's going to get deleted.

There's a lot of stuff that gets posted that I don't like. It still remains on the board. But the rules are the rules, and I'm trying to enforce them as evenly as possible. That mainly comes down to personal attacks and profanity (although now that the word filters are back in place, the only "profanity issues I tend to deal with are removing words from the filter).

He isn't, as far as I know. I didn't invent the term "fave 5", and the originator has yet to give me a list.

"Coolie Carrier", as far as I know, was never a banned term. But those who used it over and over, such as CFM, were shown the door. My personal opinion on the phrase is that it is a dumb phrase that is constantly misused.

He may be referring to one person in particular, but I was the one he was hounding to post my license online. I've never seen him ask anyone else to do that.

That's true.

But that's neither here nor there, as it happened before my time as an admin.

I don't have a guilty conscience, just a good memory. And enough common sense to NOT post anything of a personal nature on a message board.:D
