There are days that I wish everyone was gone already. But, when I really start thinking about it...the thought of them leaving absolutely kills me! I really do miss my sleep (with a "late in life surprise" that will be 18 mo's old this coming Saturday...it does wear on me). The worst part is...I never have my bed alone! Every night since Doug and I separated, it is one kid or the other that magically falls to sleep in my bed. And they all snore, talk in their sleep. I was trying to get Bree up this morning and she was saying something about bacon and cheese (when she talks, it's mainly about food). Ben will laugh hysterically all night long and Annie g's and b's...just like in real life. It's crazy. On the upside, the baby is finally starting to sleep all night...finally.

Your kids are spread out all over! Did you start driving after they were older or have you always driven?

My Dad had a trucking company when I was growing up, so I got my chauffer license in 1977. While the kids were growing up I worked local, not driving. I was in the IT field, so let my license lapse. I've been divorced since 1985 and between kids and work and other family obligations was kind of stuck, couldn't give up the money I was making. Now I get to do what I WANT to do, not what I HAVE to do. Got my CDL again last year. I still work local for now, trying to finish my year (in January) then I really do want to go OTR.

Yes it is an adjustment when they all leave. I've NEVER lived alone before, but I kind of like it. :)

Nope! I have no problem with my age. I wouldn't go back to my 30's for anything. I'm much happier now. 8)

Nope - that's not it. On April 8, 1998, on my 23'rd birthday, my daughter was born, so it is now her birthday, not mine. I am forever 23 years old.

AWW. My youngest was born 2 days before her Dad's birthday. While I was in labor he kept saying "Can't you wait 2 days."

Someday your knees and you back will remind you that you aren't 23 anymore. Your brain never understands that though. 8)

That is sweet! So, by that token...my youngest girl was born on Christmas (Eve, actually but that's when we do the gifts...), can I quit having Christmas and make it all about her? That would be nice...really cut down on all the gift buying!!!

Rev.Vassago 09-08-2008 02:33 AM

I was several hundred miles away when her mom went into labor. I had to unload a load, then drive home, then drive to the hospital. Within about 20 minutes of me getting there, she was born. It was very sweet of her to wait for her daddy.

She'll always be my little munchkin, even though she is probably going to be as tall as me at 6'2", if not taller. 10 years old, and she's taller than her brother, who is 12.

The rules clearly state that is allowed.

They will be tall then. :)

So did you go to Paul Bunyans when you were in the Dells? My kids always had to go there at least once whenever we were up there. Of course that was years ago, so I'm not sure if it's still as good.
