What is your most embarrassing moment?

Jumbo 08-22-2008 03:15 AM

Just yesterday. I came to a sign before an overpass that read( "Low Clearence 14' 5" ) 2 miles ahead. When we came to said overpass I took the off ramp, stopped at the top then proceeded to get back on the highway and continue. After about 5 minutes my escort asked me why the detour, to which I replied "I was too high for that overpass". At that point he reminded me that at the last minute I had switched loads with another driver and the one I was pulling was in fact only 13' 5" and stupid me could have flown under that underpass all and still not hit it.

My wedding day. My second wife and I got married at our home and she had always admired this statue of a cow that someone in another town had in their front yard. So on our wedding day a pickup pulled up in our drive way with a big tarp covering the bed. We had her cover her eyes as we unloaded it. When she pulled the tarp off and saw the cow statue I had built with the help of my dad and oldest stepdaughter the look on her face was priceless. Even though we have been seperated for about a year now that is still probably my finest moment, because I made someone that I love very happy.

You gave your wife a cow as a wedding gift and she didn't kill you? You have brass balls, my friend.

Jumbo 08-22-2008 11:21 PM

Yes I did. And anybody that visited us and asked about it she always had that same joy on her face when she told them the story behind it. And that my friend is a memory that I will always have and still makes me smile.

How do you build a cow?

Jumbo 08-23-2008 11:21 AM

It really wasn't that hard. For the body you use a old fuel oil barrel for the body and a old style milk can for the head. You weld a piece of flat iron between the for a neck. I used flip flop soles for the ears. For an udder I attached 5 filler necks for gas cans to a plastic dog dish. It took more time to figure out what to use then it did for actual build time. It might sound silly to you guys but it was something she always wanted.
