Widsom Teeth
Well i go 2marrow at 845am to get my widsom teeth out. I have no dental ins. So the bill is 1,865. They want 525 bucks just to put me to sleep. This is crazy but i kinda have no choice cuz im in alot of pain. So i got a credit line thru Care Credit if i pay it off before 1 year it is 0% interest.
My medical ins. might pick up 1 tooth that is impacted but not the other 3. I hope it does that will knock off 425 bucks. All i have to say is i love my job and workin for the mom and pop outfits but now i wish i had the benefits the big boys offerd. |
Good luck to you. I had my wisdom teeth pulled out. It was a miserable experience and I couldn't eat anything after that. Just milkshakes and yogurt shakes. Think happy thoughts.

even with a dental plan, you may still be SOL. Most of them cover up to a 1000 a year, but no major stuff the first however many months, and then there is the deductible, and copay....

Im going to try to think happy thoughts. LOL i just took a perkaset for the 1st time in my life and i feel drunk or something it is weird but i am in no pian. :D

i'm so glad i have an uncle who is a dentist and runs his own office in chandler, arizona. family discount ftw! :D i'm supposed to have mine x-rayed and pulled some time this year. i cannot stop chomping down the sides of my mouth.

I had mine pulled when I was 17, no big deal, if the surgeon is real good at what he does all you will experience is a little soreness for a couple days afterward. And FWIW, dentists don't routinely pull wisdom teeth - an oral-maxillofacial surgeon is the one who does it.
As far as wisdom teeth are concerned, if the wife or the kids ever need it done it's covered under my medical, not dental, and no co-pay because it's considered a "hospitalization", even though it's done on an outpatient basis...sweet health plan. Don't feel bad though - my dental insurance sucks, too. Not much difference between having and not having it, it's that bad, except for the twice a year routine stuff. Anything else and I'll be footing the bill. |
I had all my wisdoms removed, long time ago, probably around '79 in the Military. They were all impacted, but were not causing pain. Was to have them all out in one sitting, but the Dentist..so he said and he did have plyers, so I belieived him...had a really hard time with the first one, took to long and had to reschedule the rest. It was miserable taking the first, and the recovery took along time as it became infected. The other three came out real easy, and quick. With a quick recovery.

Just remember, the pain will come back, Please Please no mixing the pain killers and the beer. PS Mack I think I remember you saying you smoke, try not to while your mouth is healing. Dry sockets, hurt more then the extraction. If you can believe me and just take my word for it don't find out for yourself. Smoking withdrawls would be better than the dry sockets. No Stank you. I don't smoke but watched husband who does and did after the removal. It was a ugly mess, and extremely painful. Get better fast, Oh sorry one more thing, Ibuprophene works great on mouth pain too. Not tylenol, or aleve. TW |
Ouch on the bill.
I had one wisdom tooth pulled about a year ago. Total bill was $125 (x rays, extraction, pain medication before and after). |
My dentist told me it's best to get them pulled early cause it's less painful. I still have mine and I don't have any room for them to grow in so I got to get mine removed and I learned that when your wisdom teeth come in they cause all kinds of problems like sinus problems, and sore throat. I'm gonna have them put me to sleep when they do mine cause I'm a baby when it comes to pain.
