This is not a joke to get radio ray out of hiding this is a real?.

I am thinking of buying a 10 meter. This is the one im looking at

Now i know it has Bands A thur f How do these things work if i want to use it like a normal CB. The only reason i want it is to get out far. I was on a job with a guy the other day and we got talking. He had some 500 dollar radio and got talking big radio talk to me. But i really had no idea what he was talking about. I just want to get out alittle better then a CB and not spend big money.

What the hell is E-Tone??
What does the 10khz switch do??
So a alittle help with how to use these please??

This is your echo and reverb control, it is 2 knobs in one, kinda like the volume and squelch on a cobra or the like.

I have heard it said that Echo sometimes boosts the signal but I have absolutely no evidence to support that claim whatsoever.

I got this model about 8 months ago. Its never on except for bad weather or at a receiver though. Nice to have the range and power if needed.

I just ordered a Cobra 200 10 meter radio. I think I'll be happy with this one. I had a connex and was not impressed. Remember you have to have it "TUNED" to be able to talk 11 meter (CB Band). I did a lot of reading before I chose the Cobra. You can get a bigger radio, but it's gonna cost ya! For the price I could'nt beet this one. I want to find other channels to talk on out here, to get away from the garbage. Maybee someone can help us out on that subject. I paid $289.13 with shipping for the Cobra 200 GTL I don't know if I can say where I bought it from on this forum, but it rimes with "Clay's" :) Good luck.

What you mean get it TUNED???

I cant talk to other guys with CB's intill i get it tuned??

Can i use it right out of the box and talk to other guys with CB's or not??

I am new to this 10 meter stuff so bare with me.

Nope;You have to get it tuned. It's illegal to use a 10 meter to talk CB. Actually it has to be WORKED ON to be able to use it as a c/b. They do there thing and change this and that or add this or the other to make it talk on channel 19. If you just want more wattage go to e-bay and buy a linear. That goes between your radio and its antenna to boost the wattage. It is illegal for them to do the magic they do, so they wont tell you what the "TUNE UP" is for. :)

Mack, I have a 10 meter. I was floored by all the buttons. I only want to talk on 19. The shop photo copied a picture of the front panel and drew a picture of how all the buttons and knobs should be placed in case I bumped it or something.
