Since, I was gonna get a new truck anyway, and it is Sunday night. I went ahead sold my truck and all the goodies, banked the money to get the little interest it pays tonight. Then I'll buy the truck and start making money again.

Is there any real reason to be a part of a company? I am with CF right now and am thinking about becoming independent again. I am never in the right spot to take the loads they have and it seems like I can make out alright on my own with that list of freight prices. I am also getting tired of company bulletins warning me not to buy low and sell high. Isn't that what you are supposed to do with stock?

The main reasons to be with a company vs independent:

terminal discounts on fuel/repairs
truck/item purchase discounts
contracts

I just arrived in Prince George from Anchorage and grabbed a load of those groceries. It pays $1.99 per mile.

My average miles per day is up to 1044. Whee!

Man, where are yall getting those rates? Mine hang around the mid, to high 50s cpm.

Best rate I had so far, was $1.02 or something, but it was only about a 500 mile trip. It was from La Paz to El Poco Loco or something. :|

Right now, I'm hauling a load of furniture Prince George, to New York. I collect $1594.32. Of course, half of that will go to my fuel bill, and the other half will take care of those stupid random mechanical failures.

When I get to New York, I'm gonna get me a new truck.

Driving this route of Grain from Billings to Panama City will earn your driver $3.42 per mile, a total of $12594.57 for the entire route. Your company specializes in this cargo type so you will receive a 5% bonus for delivery. If you are late you will be fined $50.00 per day that you are late.

I'm trying an experiment. I'm gonna run 10,000 lbs overweight on a 3000+ mile trip, just to see how many tickets I get for it. If it's any more than about $2000 worth of tickets, it won't be worth running overweight.
