Ugliest big truck
 

:D Now I've seen some ugly trucks over the years as far as designs go (early White/Volvos come to mind) and was wondering what you guys and gals out there believe is the most ugly ass truck you've ever seen. :lol:

I'm gonna make alot of people pissed, But I hate the Look of the Pete 379

are you crazy or on drugs??? :lol:

I think all trucks that are aero are ugly. I like long hoods the longer the better.

If you hate the 379 pete? What do you think is a good looking truck?

i like the looks of the aero trucks, Volvo, Columbia, Cascadia, Century, I think the pete 378 is there aero truck, Prostar is ok looking, and the kw 660 isn't to bad. Volvo is my favorite out of all of them.

The only Traditional Big hood truck that appeals to me is the Kw w900.

My Sterling L-series with the round headlights is about the ugliest I've ever seen. The early Volvos and KW-T8's are some real eyesores.

I don't understand how anyone can consider a 379 ugly. :shock:

Any FLD plan and simple, inside and out.

Absolutely NO such thing as an ugly truck no matter what size, some are just more appealing than others. :wink:

Having said that the Volvo don't appeal :wink: to me.

:D Was coming back from Memphis from a family reunion a few weekends ago on I-40. There is a beautiful, black 379X with a 70" Unibilt that I've seen on I-40 before. Must be an independent trucker as he keeps that Pete shined up like you wouldn't believe. The paint looks like glass, the chrome (and there's a lot of it) is shined perfectly. He pulls a stainless steel Great Dane reefer and he keeps it shined like new as well. You can tell he's proud of his rig and must spend half his money on polish for it! 8)

I agree I think a Flat top 300 WB pete with rear hump fenders are so pretty!!

What is the cabover Pete that has the curved front pointed nose? I think thoseas are so ugly!

I drive an early White/Volve/Gmc....... Ugly...........I kind of dig the way it drives and shifts though. I can get into some pretty tight spots with it.

Wow, that is horrible. And the worst part is I can almost hear the Hank Jr. blasting from the 8 track player.

That Autocar is awesome! I saw one at the truck show in Carlisle,PA that was all restored and, I believe he stretched the frame. It was very nice. The guy was from Ohio, the truck was black with some red thrown in there. 8)

That Pete above though........WOW! what were they thinking?

Any cabover. Especially that Pete (pictured above).

I really like the look of the VN series Volvos. The new 880 has taken a while to grow on me- but now I've started to like the look of them.

If we're talking trucks with hoods (even though the 880 has a hood- I don't consider it a hood- it's still a Volvo!), I like the look of a W900.

I couldn't drive one though. I like being able to see the view.

I know too many guys who've hit the car in front of them because they didn't know it was there. No joke.

Same here on the hate for the 379 here are my reasons for said hate. 1 no visability over the hood can not see what is directly in front of you ever noticed what truck has the highest percentage of bent up front bumpers the Pete 379. 2 the cab is WAY TO NARROW. That restricts your visability to the rear and also makes it way to hard to get to the bunk after your driving shift Heaven help you if you are running team or training in a 379. When you can roll the passenger side window down from the drivers seat with out getting out of the seat and it is not a power window there is something wrong. Come on PACAR you did not NEED TO BRING BACK THE R MODEL MACK CAB. 3rd Sleeper set up flat out sucks. Pete is the only sleeper that uses a split mattress for the upper bunk try sleeping with the seam running down your back can not be done also with the double bunk 379 the upper bunk does not fold all the way into the back wall and so the person on the bottom has to worry about a concussion when waking up when they sit up from hitting the upper bunk.

That plus the fact Pete overprices them just because of the name. you can get a Western Star fully loaded for what a base 379 starts at and have more room in the cab and sleeper. That and I think the 379 is so ugly that even if you draped Faith Hill and Shania Twain over one would I ever want to DRIVE ONE AGAIN.

A flat top Pete with a 285 - 300 wheel base is one of the prettiest trucks out there![/img]

When I used to drive one, I got a concussion and it wasn't from just sitting up. :wink: :D

My girlfriend at the time, laughed her you-know-what off. So, from then on, SHE was on top. :shock: I got to start laughing then. :twisted:

I was running team at the time and the person I was running team with was my FATHER so he got the bottom bunk when the rare time we did stop all the way for a break for the night. Hell I could not even stand up in the high rise one that is how small it is.

I happen to like the way Autocars look so I'll have to differ on that one.

The picture of the Pete 372 is ugly but there are some out there that look better than that (ok, somewhat:). If you look at modern Pete's you'll see some of the design features of the 372 in them. They also must have been thinking of 10 mpg.

I think the ugliest truck out there is a Pete 389. I also think a K100 aerodyne is about the nicest looking truck out there.
