Truck Stop #2 ( Large Pic)
Ok, Updated the design a tad bit. Enjoy!
edit: crap, I forgot photobucket sizes down these things. The one thing you might not be able to see, depending on your screen size is the drivers lounge, located behind the one shower house, across the service department. Edit 2, If anyone wants to see an original pic, just pm me your e-mail addy and I will sent it. Just put truck stop in the subject line. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...ruckstop-1.jpg |
hmmm...don't even see a downsized version here.
|
layout is confusing - some of the parking spots are going to be difficult to get into because of buildings being in the way, and the service bays are inaccessable by the future expansion.
|
Service bays need to be drive through. 3 trucks in a line trying to fuel or pull through the fuel lisland will be a mess, fuel island to close to entrance of lot and will have trucks backed up. No employee parking area or restaurant parking (for cars). Scale?

1) First off, we must recognize and understand that the biggest problem with truckstops (and rest areas) are the fact that the parking spaces are not designed for 53' trailers AND relatively long (as compared to the 60's,70's, 80's etc) tractors.
Each parking space will have to lengthed to at least 5 ft. longer. This affects the total amount of parking spaces available. 2) The second problem with truckstops (and rest areas) is that there are simply not enough parking spaces available; Your "future expansion areas" should be made into parking spaces NOW. The area in the top left corner needs to be utilized as parking spaces now. What we need is to introduce legislation to provide tax relief to anyone or entity developing/building a truckstop. Land costs money, but tax relief can offset the initial cost. LUxy, your picture looks great, but i think we need to put down the crayons and pick up the pen----to write to your senator. |

For the service bays, I dont see how you cant get to them, there is a road right down the middle. Trucks pull in, and back out when finished. |
