What I am trying to say is Bush and his DOJ could declare any US citizen right now an ENEMY combatant and their is NOTHING any of our FAMILIES or all of our LAWYERS could do since he took the right of HEBAS CORPUS away from us. We would be given an all expense paid trip down to GITMO and thrown in with the rest of the terriosts that have been caught subjected to whatever treatment is being given out at this time. Since we are by the way not following the Geneva Convention for the treatment of prisoners subject to torture and beatings and who knows what else thanks George W Bush for removing us from that one if we do end up in a war with Iran they will make sure to treat our Soilders with respect.

You can not even have a lawyer file a Hebas Corpus which means where is the body in latin in court since he Decided that does not apply to Combatants at all. He was told by the leaders of his own party in Congress do not do anything with Libbys sentance at all yet him being the Decider did what he did. Yes I can not stand the man for the simple reason he lost his focus and went after the wrong man that being Hussian which was contained instead of keeping after Bin Laden and finshing his butt off.

Hey-When I make a comment it's not a Mod making a comment(Unless it's to a spammer or some other evil doer) it's just me making the comment with my own opinion.
When is the last time you've heard from bin Laden? He's dead-mission accomplished.

Since we are by the way not following the Geneva Convention for the treatment of prisoners subject to torture and beatings and who knows what else

Now you're just plain Wrong-Give me your PERSONAL Knowledge of this other than something you've read or heard from Main Stream Media.
For terrorists captured they're treated well. As far as I'm concerned they should be hung by their Nads.

Thje Miltary commisons bill of 2005 removed the right of Hebas Corpus to all people deemed Enemy Combantants by either a Miltary Lawary or Goverment Offical. Also Bush in a speech in 2005 stated since that terroists have no recoinized country the Geneva Conevtion does not APPLY to how they will be treated when they are in our custody. That means you could be an Iranian Iraqi National but deemed a terrorist and have no protection under the Geneva COnvention.

Try reading the Geneva Convention and why it is that unlawful enemy combatants do not deserve nor have any rights except for an execution after a hearing by the military leaders in the area. When people bring the Geneva accords up in debates about the terror war, it really makes me laugh and a bit sad when they tie the hands of those who we ask to fight this war. Playing by rules set up for recognized armies which are acting from the orders of governments is what the Geneva accords where written about. When did the Islamic nutbags sign or better yet follow these accords in word or deed?

Giving same rights as we have to Terrorists????
Are you for REAL???????????
Screw em. They're treated well and thanks to the Libs they're treated TOO well.
Try em and hang the bastards

Lets see. Slick Willy pardoned so many criminals when he left office it took 500 pages of printed paper to list them all. Many of them were absolute scum and you are upset that Bush pardoned one man who had never been in trouble with the law prior to this? Willy lied in front of a grand jury and nothing happened to him!!!!!!!!
Its amazing how selective memory works, isn't it? Once again you have proven the point that liberals defined the word hypocrite.

What flavor are you drinking today GH? Seems Clinton paid back an old friend himself, who ran and hid in Switzerland and never faced his charges.

President Clinton's eleventh-hour pardon of fugitive financier Marc Rich has sparked a firestorm of controversy, launching investigations in both houses of Congress and igniting fierce protest from both Democrats and Republicans. The U.S. House and Senate have issued a rash of subpoenas calling for witnesses as well as financial records, as the House Government Reform Committee continued its hearings and the Senate Judiciary Committee geared up for its own proceedings.

Thursday, the controversy took another step forward — no, we're not at impeachment yet, but it's been suggested — when federal prosecutors in New York officially opened a criminal investigation into whether Rich did indeed buy his pardon with his ex-wife Denise's pointed largesse to the First Couple and the Democratic party.
What was Marc Rich's alleged crime?

In 1983, Rich was indicted in federal court of evading more than $48 million in taxes. He was also charged with 51 counts of tax fraud and with running illegal oil deals with Iran during the hostage crisis.
What does Denise Rich have to do with all this?

Marc Rich's socialite ex-wife has donated an estimated $1 million to Democratic causes, including $70,000 to Hillary Clinton's successful Senate campaign and $450,000 to the Clinton presidential library fund. She also lobbied heavily for Marc's pardon. Investigators want to know if Denise's contributions led to a direct quid pro quo exchange for her ex-husband's pardon. Clinton has denied any connection, saying he relied solely on the information provided by Jack Quinn (former White House counsel and Rich's current lawyer) when he was weighing the pardon request.
