How to clean my truck

Ok, I never come in here so don't tell anyone in O/O that I posted this.

I'm sort of a neat freak and always cleaning my truck. Any tips you can give me would be great. One in particular is trying to get my carpet clean. It's black and it's like a magnet and my super dust buster can't vacuum up the stuff. It's like it's glued to the carpet. I occasionally use one of those tape roll lint things that you roll onto your clothes and that works pretty good.

Or, do you go out and have custom throw carpets made to cover the trucks carpets. I was thinking those you could take out and shake the SH%%T out of them?

Ok, don't laugh at me. How do you dust? My approach has been to put both windows down at 80 miles per hour and stamp my feet. Do you spray that Pledge on a dusting thingie or on the surface your dusting. Where does the dust go? Do you need to shake it out every 5 minutes?

Any other tips would be appreciated. I'm single and have a woman come into my home and clean. She always threatens to quite unless my place dirtier. I have a window plant that's been dead for over 3 years that I keep watering. It really really bugs the crap out of her. She keeps leaving me notes about it.

I'll help you out Big Boy....
Please don't say anything to my master...(shhhhhh...RH)
...he's passed out right now...teeeheee... :P

I rigged up an air hose with an air nozzle (for RH) off the airline to the seat and use that to blow with. ...oh...tee hee....ahhhhhh.

I keep a small whisk broom under the drivers seat, and occasionally sweep the driver floor area, and pull out the rubber mat...at the fuel island and rinse it off with their small water hose hookup.

I use the dirt devil vac like you...as we have an onboard generator for the 110v outlet. It sucks better than the portable rechargeable type. If you need to...... go to a Blue Beacon, and use their vacs once in a while...as they are so much more powerful.

I use the spray can carpet cleaner...it does very well for spots and stains.

Also, I put down throw rugs. In the rain or snow...you will invariably track in dirt. Saves on a lot of clean up, as you can wash these in the coin laundry.

Hope that helps...is there anything else...I can do for you?.....anything?

Just a suggestion.........

In my PV, I use baby wipes on dash etc to control the dust and unexpected spills. To have water on hand for messes is difficult. They are handy for sticky fingers too.

(I buy them by the case too).

Yes put down carpets, the kind with the rubber bottom, like a bath mat, you can throw them in the washer and dryer, no shrinkage.

Also I use Mothers brand of interior cleaner, not Armourall or however you spell it, that stuff attracts dirt and it sticks to it.

If you're not using Mothers or something to dust/clean, get some of those Swiffer dusters, picks up dust without spreading it around.

Baby wipes rile for all sorts of things, great for those middle of nowhere emergency pit stops, dirty hands and sweaty faces, dashes, doors and more. Carpets just be glad its not a white carpet

Ya, I discovered those baby wipes a little while ago and use them left and right for everything. If I wipe my hands I wipe down the dash or anything else I can reach before throwing them away.

Where do you by carpets with rubber backs? Do you have them made to fit your truck?

You can do it yourself buy carpet, cut it size, then take rubber cement and drizzle it over back let dry and use.

you can always put a wood floor or a fake laminate(sp?) one, then all you would have to do is sweep it out. 8)

I like carpet but it really bugs me that there are tons of little white specs of crap that I can't vacuum up. I may go to a car upholstery shop and see if maybe there's some different carpet I could have installed.

Stevebooth .... I too like the carpet ... feels good on my little toes 8) .. anyway ... I go to the local carpet store and ask to see their remnants ~ there kept in the back room .... I can pick up nice piece for $5-6 dollars ,, then when it gets to bad or I get tired of it ... just throw it away and get a new one ..... I measured the floor from front to back - next to sleeper...... lay the carpet on the cement face down and draw your pattern out on the back and cut it out with a razor.
