important big truck will have to go 68 per hr
 

all the big company's are at it again. They have a device to put into big trucks that would make big trucks go 68 miles per hr.
They want to make this law.

What a mess that would be!

We have till 3/28/07. Too put our input to the department of transportation.

I talking to those driver who also work for these big company's cuz one day you might want to work somewhere else. A better company that allows you to go faster and possible you may want to get your own big truck.
My opinion is big company's want no competition.
Big company are greedy.
Please email the dept of transportation and let them know what a mess that could be.
Tell them about Ohio raising the toll speed limit and how fatality accidents have gone 60 % down since they up the speed limit from 55miles per hr to 65 miles per hr.

Split speed limits do not work and are very dangerous

my truck is governed at 68 and i dont have any problems with it. more than enough to get me in trouble in most states. I dont really see a point of 80,000lbs going much faster than that.

68 is fine with me. I am ok with on-board recorders,as well.

Yes and see I all your truck in line that looks like a train and your all riding bumper to bumper real close to each other 8 X 80,000 = 640000 that's a hell of alot scarier then 80.000. I really would like to stay away from that. I like my own space

Um, every heard of maintain a safe following distance bud? It don't matter what speed you're going at, it is YOUR responsibility to not tailgate and keep a safe distance. And the fact of the matter is, no matter what speed trucks are governed at, those who don't care about their safety or others are still going to tailgate....Governing speeds won't change that.

We just did both... installed OBRD and lowered the speed to 68.. you'd think the world was coming to an end... :roll:
