Marines

In the Walmart parking lot today there were 5 bus loads of Marines and every one of them had been to Iraq and that got me thinking.

Marines are some of the most respectful people on this earth maybe they cuss and get loud but they lay down there lives for us and I think they deserve to be allowed to do those kinds of things even if it coses us a little uncomfort because we would be a whole lot more uncomfortable with out them.

Well mabey not, but most of the ones I have been around do. Mabey it's just a NC thing.

Very true on both notes....respectability comes from within and not about who or what you are. I do not think I want my children to think that just because I have the title of "Marine" that it gives me carte blanche to make an ass out of myself....now on that note I have been around plenty of truckers that have filthy mouth as well.

Never was in the military, they took one look at me and decided that it was probably best to not even get started!!...... but I have spent the better part of 30 yrs. in a part of Texas which has a very heavy military presence. (Mostly Air Force & Army)

I've seen groups of soldiers get a bit boisterous on festive occasions, but as a group, they were never obnoxious, nor did they behave in a manner that would be construed as disrespectful. (oh, I know that you'll always have a few asshole exceptions here or there, but I refuse to judge all of them based upon the foolish actions of a disrespectful few!!)

Don't know about The Marines, but as for The Air Force and The Army, based upon my observations, Honor and Dignity are revered whether they are on base or not, in uniform or in civilian clothing!!
