MD,
I just stumbled onto Drummerworld, while looking through some of Manu's stuff.
I checked out their forums, and photos of the members showing off their kits... wOw!!...and right before Christmas!

Anyway, I was reading that Drummerworld article on Manu, and what they were saying about distinctive styles, and Manu's short Tom & cymbal strokes is very recognizable.
When I heard that song "IF" I assumed it was Jeff Campitelli, and I always thought ...where did THAT come from?
How come he doesn't play like that all the time?

I really love the Joe Satriani record that Roadhog referenced, the one with Manu Katche. That's the one where Satch dialed down all the techno guitar playing in favor of a more organic, bluesy sound. It's a really warm and human-sounding record.

He's good. I like how he uses nice relaxed pauses to set up the next segment. He's got a real good right hand too. He could mimic most drummers while holding a brew in his left hand if he ever felt like showing off. Originally Posted by Roadhog

I've also been hanging out on the Drummerworld forums, and enjoying some nice clips like this one
edit; just noticed the muffled snare

You know what would be good? If more people posted some of their favorite music. With all the hundreds of people on CAD there's tons of good stuff I don't get to see because people aren't posting it.
I saw a segment today about Youtube and the most watched videos aren't cat playing the piano vids, mostly what people do on Youtube is watch their favorite music videos. How about sharing?

I gotta admit, that's only the second Shania Twain song I've ever heard. The other one was that big hit that she has.
I'm really not one for pop country, but I can't say I'd pass up a hitchhiker who looked like that. Though all that leopard print might make me pause.
