The heck he didn't.
I know President Bush did all he could to support, and supply our troops with what they needed. I know, because I had a cousin who served in Iraq, a friend of mine that served in Iraq, and my brother-in-law is serving in Iraq right now. My brother-in-law is a crew chief. (mechanic instructor) He is supposed to come home in October. This last year was the first year ever that the Iraqi Air Force (those are the good guys) had a graduating class. My brother-in-law earned an award for his achievements in instructing the Iraqi Air Force by one of the American Generals.
You can blame President Bush for everything that has gone wrong with our country during his tenure, but I know he did all he could to aid, and support our troops. Say what you wanna say about him, but he is a Patriot.
I like you Jackrabbit, but I completely disagree.Originally Posted by Jackrabbit379

I understand. No hard feelings, Mike.
I believe that President Bush did his best for our military. I say that not only because I supported him, but also because I know some that served under him, and they have told me that they felt like he did all he could for our military. (maybe I should have worded the first one differently)
Speaking of disarming... Have yall been to Wal-Mart, Academy, or any other outdoors store? They are always out of stock on ammo, guns, etc.
I went to Academy yesterday afternoon to look around, and their shelves in the 'hunting' areas were empty.

Lets face facts here folks.
Blame who you want about our military not having the "proper" equipment, but it is really a fact that you can not blame any one person for this.
Since the end of the cold war our military has been dealt with budget cutback after budget cutback. Add to the fact that our military had spent several decades practicing and preparing for a very different kind of war than what it found itself fighting. Much of the tactics and equipment the services went to war with in Afganastain and Iraq was built for fighting in Europe and Western Asia which has a lot different climate and terrain. We were well prepared to fight a war much like we did in WW 2, not a protracted urban conflict. Those who served and trained in a combat unit during the cold war (esp non Vietnam periods) know exactly what I am talking about.
It takes a lot of time and a lot of money to equip and train the military, and in reality neither was really there.

I have an idea.... let's disarm the secret service. Let's see how well he likes that. ( Do as I say, not as I do )
. Mark my words.... there will be a HUGH revolt within 4 years to keep this fool from driving this country into the ground.

A revolt? What type? an impeachment?, or one of those militia types that the good ole boys spend years practicing for on some compound in Northern Georgia, or the many others spread across our great country. I mean no offense to you by this statement but truly, our country being taking over because some people think the president sucks. Then it should have happend in the last 8 years, it should of happened in 76-80, and many other times through out history.
Jack Rabbit I was not blaming Bush soley for our military's lack of proper equiptment, but the fact is our military was/is not properly supplied. they never have been, even back in WW ll my father did not have all he needed on his little sardine can of an LST. When he was in Korea at his MASH unit they never had all they needed and finally in South Vietnam he was sorely lacking in proper equiptment in the Medical Service Core.
People will agree or disagree with me, no skin off my back. I just find it amazing how much hate and anger is spouted on this board about the presidents (Iam gulity too) but latley it seems like some people are jumping on any chance to down grade Obama and he has not even hit the 90 day mark yet, it just blows my mind. Arguing politics is a mistake and I think I am going to step out of these post as no one will ever agree with each other from two different parties so why waste my time. IT IS WHAT IT IS..........

I don't hate Obama. I hate what he is doing to this country. He has plenty of accomplices in congress. These people will sell their souls to get what they want. It seems that they are doing everything they can to destroy the values and principles that have made this country great. To be frank, I wasn't that crazy about Bush, but I believe he did what he could to make sure our troops had the tools needed to accomplish their goals. Congress refused to fund supplies for our troops after they sent them into harms way. People seem to forget that it is congress that holds the purse strings. Congress wanted to get back at Bush so they cut off the money to make sure our troops had what they needed. Who knows how many of our troops died needlessly because of not having the supplies that they needed. Obama and the chickencrats seem to hate the military. It is the military that makes sure our rights are protected.

Guys you are aware that a Front line Air to AIR fighters the F-15 the only one we have in the QUANTITY needed to fight a MAJOR war has not been produced since 1988 in the C model the one that is used for Air Defense the E model was taken out of Prduction in 1996. As for the F-16 the primary Air to Ground fighter last ones were built in 1994 for here 1996 for EXPORT. The F-22 we are producing 3 a month and a max production could get 12 a month however Obama wants to STOP IT cold. The F-15 last year we had 4 break up in flight from METAL FATIUGE yet Obama and the DEMOCRAPS say they can fly some more.

I guess I should have chosen my words better
. By "revolt" I mean a BIG swing in the other direction. By what means, I do not know. You actually help make my point. After the Carter years (76-80) Regan won in a landslide. 12 years of Republican control of the Whitehouse. Bush 1 failed in his leadership. Clinton was elected. Faced with a liberal in the Whitehouse and a congress controlled by liberals the "people" changed the makeup of the house. The GOP won a sweeping victory to gain control and look what happened. The economy took off and Clinton rode the good times out to be a popular President. Bush 2 was elected and failed as a leader ( IMHO ). What happened??? The liberals were given control of the house again. Then what happened??? Well after 2 years in control .... look where we are today. Things will now swing the other way.

How many do we NEED to fight a "major war?" Define a Major War.
WHO else in the world has a fighter comparable to the f-22, IN QUANTITY, and the ability or inclination to wage a MAJOR war against us?
