I watched it and was surprised that it was not what I'd been led to believe it was going to be...

I was a bit shocked to see images of the guys in Afghanistan with goats...

I was surprised to hear the leader of the Mujahadin say that money meant to fight Bin Laden, was going to Bin Laden...

I know there's a lot of criticism that the dialogue in the film is not accurate... but so much of the film was images put to newspaper accounts.

I can't help but wonder if money was going to Bin Laden...

The Mujahadin leader was assassinated a couple days before the 9/11 attack...

I'd just really like to hear what you thought about it, if you watched it.

Almost no one on the pbs board watched it. They just went with the criticism they heard beforehand...

I didn't get to see much of it. I stopped to eat and it was on. (I'm a working man) What I did see suggests that there were a LOT of mistakes made all along the way. And, they are still being made.

There was a ship bound for Lyberia that was held in, I believe, Turkey. There were weapons of mass distruction aboard. I have to wonder where they were made... Iraq, maybe?????

I think your take on it is accurate. There were mistakes all along the way.

I forgot the thing about the ship. I mean, I have no recollection of that part of the film.

I can't remember if Iraq ever had full fledged WMD. I thought they weren't that advanced, then they had to destroy everything they had after they invaded Kwait and lost...

I would really like to see the film again.

Iraq had, and used chemical weapons during the Iran / Iraq war in the 80's basically to stave off defeat: the Iranians had a lot more manpower. We not only gave them a pass on it, we approved of it: we re-established diplomatic relations after they started using it, gave them military advice, and gave them over a billion dollars in aid during the war to help them out.

I'm not aware of any biological weapons they had, and they certainly didn't have nuclear weapons. According to the Duelfer report and the various post mortems by our intelligence agencies after we invaded Iraq, Saddam didn't produce any more chemical weapons after his Kuwait "adventure" and the stocks he had before that time became militarily useless after 3 years or so.

In fact, in one of the IEDs that has gone off in Iraq since we invaded there was one of the chemical weapons. Two of our soldiers were slightly wounded; one went back to duty immediately the other was out for 24 hours or so. Neither was wearing a NBC suit or respirator.

I tend to forget about chemical weapons. I shouldn't because I've seen several programs on Gulf War Syndrome... ("syndrome" always sounds like a put down... like it's in someone's mind... but that's just me, how I hear it.)

This is sort of tangential... but I've had a lot of trouble with mold from leaks I had trouble getting fixed... I finally had my shower tiles taken off and the wall board was sodden and black in places. So that's gone now. The reason I had that done was that I was having a lot of hair fall out again (I had a lot fall out when I was living in the hydrogen sulfide and during the tetanus, though it was probably more from an infection in my blood than from the clostridia bacteria). I've wanted to mention what a warning sign it can be to have hair loss, but I've been reluctant to post that because of "male pattern baldness."

From a folk point of view, I sometimes wonder if male pattern baldness results from stress depleting B12... I had a lot of hair grow back after I was having a lot of injections after the privy pit problems...

I wish it were possible to do huge instant surveys to find out what a lot of other people have experienced...

I mention that because I wonder if some things we hardly pay any attention to are actually like low grade chemical weapons...

...anything you watch on the TV about 9/11 (or anything else for that matter) is just what you are s'posed to know/see...it won't be long now...the poop is going to hit the fan...and who knows, it may prove (in time) that we should have just kept believing the 'official story'...because the aftermath might not be pretty...interesting times to say the least...

I've heard it said that the Chinese had/have an ancient curse that goes like this, "May you have interesting times."
