OMAHA Neb.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Werner Enterprises (NASDAQ: WERN) a premier transportation and logistics provider has been honored for the third consecutive year with a SmartWay Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Recognized as a leader in freight supply chain environmental performance and energy efficiency this year Werner was again honored in two categories – Small Flatbed Carrier and Large TL/Dry Van Carrier.

Werner was one of 39 truck carriers to receive this distinction representing the best environmental performers of SmartWay’s nearly 3000 partners. The carrier Excellence Awardees were honored at the American Trucking Associations Annual Management Conference & Exhibition held Oct. 19 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania.
