The Iowa Motor Truck Association recently named Gary Hurley a 2011 Iowa Motor Truck Association Outstanding Professional Driver. As a professional truck driver Gary has consistently demonstrated commitment and dedication to excellence which is displayed by an outstanding driving record years of service and professional attitude. Through this annual contest professional drivers are recognized for their commitment to the profession by maintaining high standards that enable them to have records that are above average. The professional truck driver is the foundation of the trucking industry and this program specifically recognizes the men and women who are behind the wheel of a truck each and every day. The Iowa Motor Truck Association and the Iowa Council of Safety Management are the sponsors of this award program.

“The objective of this annual contest is to highlight and showcase the professional drivers in the State of Iowa that have demonstrated the commitment to operate at the highest level of professionalism. Gary’s outstanding driving record and years of service are true examples that define professionalism. Gary Hurley is setting the standard for Iowa’s trucking industry and we are proud of their outstanding accomplishments” said IMTA President Brenda Neville.

The professional drivers were nominated by the management of their trucking company and over 20 drivers were nominated for consideration. After a thorough review process nine individuals were selected to receive this coveted honor. These truck drivers are the true professionals in the industry and their work enables the ongoing success of Iowa’s trucking industry.
