Yesterday...I picked up a hitchhiker...
I didn't know it but he rode with me from my driveway to Bree's middle school and then to Ben and Annie's elementary. As the kids got out of the truck, I heard the most God-awful noise and I thought it was a unusually loud bird. Everyone in the parking lot stopped and turned and were looking right at me..I was trying to figure out what was up. I got out and was looking for the bird...or around for whatever...trying to figure out why everyone was staring. A lady said...there is a cat in your truck. I said...I don't have a cat. She said..."get it out! get it out! you've got to get it out!". I was thinking...oh noooo...#1 - it had to come from my neighborhood. #2 - there are no friendly cats in my neighborhood. #3 - I'm dressed for work...I don't want to crawl under my truck to rescue a bloody cat!!!
Luckily, Dalton had thrown a piece of his breakfast (a sausage patty) at me while we were on the road so I looked for it on the floorboard...and proceeded to locate the cat. He was fine. He jumped down, and climbed right into my arms and started purring and "kneading" on my arm. Great. So I head back to my neighborhood to try to drop him off...he didn't want to get out of my truck (he rode a lot quieter on the inside than he did on the outside!). He would NOT get out. So I took Dalton to daycare and went back home again...I went into the house and got a box and put a towel in it and got some water, some milk and some babyfood meat (the only thing mild enough I had that I figured the cat could handle). I put him down by the food and after attempting to leave several times (he would follow me to the truck), I finally got him interested in the food and I snuck away.
I thought...he won't be there when I get home. Well...he was. And the kids immediately brought him into the house and named him..."Lucky" (if you knew how I drive, you'd understand...). So...mom brought me over a litterbox, some cat litter, some canned food, some dry food and a pooper scooper. I have a cat. This was someone's baby. Here he is lounging on my couch last night, under a blanket and huggung a stuffed purple elephant. *sigh* (sorry but the picture is a little blurry and big...I tried to resize it in photobucket but I guess it didn't work)

I wonder if Wildkat needs another rider?!?! This cat LOVES to ride!!!
