Talked to the medical department yesterday and found out that they in fact do test for benoz's-a class of drugs known as "controlled substances". So I have to get off the stuff now and be off it for 3 f'n months this guy said. Gee, I wish my recruiter mentioned this to me when I was making plans for this in the Spring. She never mentioned anything about controlled substances. :banghead: :fire:

It is a good idea that if you take regular medication, to tell the recruiter what you take and for what, and then get them to contact medical to find out if there are any problems. If they hedge or refuse to --- find another company.

CR England did you huge favor. This will afford you more time to find a batter carrier.

Oh I wouldn't have signed on with them. The BS 90 day training is enough to get the cdl and move on. Just wish I knew of other schools that will front the bill for school and train you on their dime.

swift sheinder and maybe werner. can you afford a community college you'll come out better off ing the long run. trust me ( the free training aint so free !!! ). if the carrier gets shady and fires you be prepared to get the bill in the mail

I can't speek for them all, and I know swift has come under some scrutiny, but all and all, they trained me well. I talked to a friend of mine that trained with cr and asked him how his backing was going after a few months, he said they only let him bump the dock twice in like 3 mos. Trust me, cr isn't the way to go.

Actually CRE recruiters are told due to HIPPA they cannot get involved with applicants medical history. If you tell them you are on any meds they are supposed to give you the number to the clinic so you can talk to medical personnel yourself. Which if you're booked to come in the clinic can make a note in your file of whom you spoke to so you don't have to repeat again your medical history especially if you've received an okay from clinic staff. Clinic staff then sends an email to your recruiter telling them if you were approved or not approved. Plus, there are certain meds that CRE does or usually does not allow that may be perfectly okay with other trucking companies.
