C R ENGLAND!!!

Well I did the school at cr england and let me tell you a bit about it.If you are lazy, unwilling to try to keep up with its fast pace(hence the reason its is called the excelerated course),don't realize you need to study hard or just plain can't cope with uncomfortable changes then it is not the school for you.If you can handle the above then it is A GOOD PLACE TO GO TO GET YOUR CDL!!!
day 1 physical end piss test
day 2 lots of paperwork and school material
day 3 150 question test(open book)how easy it was to get a 98%
day 4 dmv cdl permit day(I studied most of the night and passed all on first day
day 4 more studys and tests(pay attention take notes and don't f#$k off)
day 5 same as day 4
day 6 final exam(in order to move on you must get at least 80% average on all tests and quizzes)
day 7 rest!!(well deserved if you got this far!!!)
day 8 yard time and YOU ARE DRIVING!! also pretrip study
day 9 pretrip study and more drive time plus 1 backing maneuver
day 10 same as above plus 1 more backing maneuver
day 11 same as above plus yet another backing maneuver
day 12 pretrip evaluation test and road evaluation test and yet 1 more backing maneuver
day 13 practice practice practice
day 14 no rest on this day lolz practice practice practice(know pretrip inside out cuz monday is exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
day 15 MONDAY!!!! DMV TEST FOR CDL!!!!!(get off the curbs cuz i got it done today!!!
now is 3 day orientation wich is more test and quizzes(remember still need 80% to pass)
now you go on the road with a trainer this is where you actully learn to drive the truck on the real life(Im on break here with 8 thousand miles down and 7 to go)
then is one day upgrade and decision time.If you decide to work for cr england then you go otr for another 15thousand mile with a career advancement trainer or you can say no thanks and head on home to do as you please as long as you keep up on the loan payments wich by the way only cost me 1995.00 including hotel and continental breakfast(I waited for May special price).lolz
so after all this I say to those who are thinking about tt school then contrary to what I saw on the internet about the CR england school I tell you this from first hand!!!
at the school and in the yard the trainers were normal down to earth people that gave help to those who need extra time!!
They get a thumbs up here!!!!
CR ENGLAND GOT ME MY CDL!!!!!!!
I'll let you all know how the rest of traning goes when I return
thank all for reading this boring post but I believe CREngland has earned this credit from me :D

Keep your record clean. When CR England starts screwing you over, you'll need a clean DAC to hire on elsewhere.

CR England Graduate

Best of luck with CR England, stay away from the lease purchase plan though. You are one of the few posts regarding CR England that is positive on this entire site. Update the forum in a few months with an honest follow-up with progress.

Other students should follow your example of studying hard and not screwing around while in school, they would find it much more rewarding and actually get a CDL and be hired.

Again, good luck.........and keep us posted.

This is good to see, I have finally found two people with real life personal xperience with CRE.

Most people go straight by real answers and go right after CRE sucks because of their lease program and that company schools are a scam because they get gov't funding... well, freaking duh! I would highly doubt that they are going to sit around and not want to make money.

From what I understand, they are in court and will possibly have to payback thier shady dealings on thier lease programs. BUT, anyone out of school, once again from what I have read, shouldnt be thinking about being on thier own and should become a company driver to get to know the ropes and then push on with leasing or buying a new truck. Right?

Out of the schools that I have searched over the last 2 weeks, at least 3 hours a day - they seem to have a great school and trainers. I dont completly understand everything when school is over with - but school I do.

The company sucks but that school in SLC is great!! VERY VERY fast paced. i was in a small class and got alot of personal attention plus the driving in the mountains was a HUGE PLUS!!!!!!!!!

i left soon after class cause their trainers and training Dept is the worst

This Is true..They now pay for ALL tolls and Pre-pass and several other changes. There was talk of a payback, but thats why big companies spend millions on lawers.

I want to know how the company is. Is the company good for student grads from other schools...I turn them down in september, they were only a few companies that were going to give me a opprtunity..and I turned them down. Now I'm still unemployed... One Big reason was that the oreintation was a week long and during that time your not being paid..

You won't qualify at CRE with your record.

I did orientation at the facility in Texas. It was great, the people were great. After my first three weeks training I went to the facililty in Burns Harbor, IN for upgrade and was treated like dirt. mainly because, I believe, I came from another school. The guy who did the driving test was a complete jerk who thought he was God himself. Knowing he has your future in his hands at that moment, he milks it for all its worth. Only met two nice persons at that facilty.

I went thru thier program in the summer of 2003 .
For most part it was decent. Yes very fast paced. My class of 40, 15 dropped or got kicked out.
Fighting, or drinking on co. property. Me i was lucky, lived in slc so i didn't have to stay in their 'wonderful' dorm rooos. I got to go home after class each evening.
The range instructors all had an attitude. but i would just take that and throw it back in their face. One instructor got canned for saying something about a student's wife.

I like the fact they have thier own backing pad, and let you bobtail around the yard , for practice.

The day we drove up in the mtns., i ACED going up and down Parleys. Drove that hile every day for 15 years, communting to Park City.
Some of the students were scared *hitless,, due to how steep it is.

My otr trainer at the time had 7 years as a trainer. The great thing about my trainer, he was based out of slc, and was on a dedidecated Conway account at the time. The schdule allowed us to be home out of the truck one full day aweek.
Solo upgrade class, i and one other person were awarded best in class.
How i got that i have no clue to this day. But i won't complain.

I did hate having to sit there and listen to thier speech about becoming your own 'boss' AKA the lease. Most times i had my head stuck in the drivers manual.

Stayed with them a full year until my loan was paid off.

If anyone is considering them to learn to get you cdl, do it. but if your rich, stay in a extended stay hotel, so you can get good sleep,. and not have to worry about your stuff getting stolen, but your room mates.

Old / New Driver

I am Looking to get back to driving tractor trailers, Local or long distance. I have three years experience over the road. I stop driving when I got married, started a new business and said I would fall back on driving in the future. Well now is the future almost twenty years later. Well along the way I got out of control, got my license suspended, got a couple of possession charges and had a couple of accidents. Well that was the young me, I grew up changed and got my life on the right track. Worked hared to maintain a disciplined life got my license (CDL) cleared and keeping my nose clean. I am looking for a company or individual to give me a chance to to move on in life leave the past behind and look forward to retirement. If you know of such a company or individual that can help me I would forever be in your debt. I am looking for a refresher course that also offers a carrier in driving.
