Position Profile:
This position is responsible for increasing student learning through developing a relevant and progressive curriculum, designing and implementing effective learning strategies and environments, delivering instruction of high quality, assessing student learning, advising students, and participating in college activities. Competencies and tasks of the position will be met consistent with the educational principles of the college that focus on meeting the learning needs of students.

Position Description:
1. Provide instruction in the Truck Driving Program
2. Provide training for Commercial Driver's License to students enrolled in Electrical Power Distribution, Diesel and Heavy Equipment Mechanic Programs.
3. Provide collision avoidance training to profession truck drivers.
4. Provide forklift training.
5. **This position may also involve the instructional delivery of courses during evening and weekend hours.
6. Assist with the development, revision, and implementation of curriculum.
7. Assist with program advisement, retention and recruitment efforts.
8. Research and develop course materials.
9. Participate in the assessment of student learning.
10. Develop and implement flexible instructional delivery systems, including courses that emphasize individualized instruction.
11. Function in a team environment without direct supervision and in a manner that supports a cohesive departmental atmosphere by attending and reaching consensus at team meetings; making budget, curriculum, and delivery method decisions; scheduling classes; providing academic advice to program students and being involved in College-wide activities.
12. Relate successfully with students and staff of diverse cultural, social or educational backgrounds.

Qualifications:
1. Ability to meet the certification requirements of the Wisconsin Technical College System Board (WTCSB):

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent with education or training preparing a person for the occupational area being taught. Work experience combined with education and training totaling seven years (14,000 hours) shall be equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree for the purpose of WTCS certification. Each academic credit or equivalent credit shall be equal to 110 hours of occupational experience.
* Minimum of two years (4,000 hours) of work experience required.

2. Class A Commercial Driver's License with Air Brake endorsement required.
3. Good driving record required.
4. Certified forklift instructor preferred.
5. Teaching experience preferred.
6. Seven to ten years of truck driving experience preferred.
7. Employment for this position is contingent upon a negative pre-employment drug test and acceptable DMV driving record.

Salary:
Salary to be paid for the position will be commensurate with academic training and educational experience. The 2007 academic-year salary schedule ranges from $40,711 with a bachelor's degree to $73,600 with a doctorate/educational specialist degree. Maximum placement for new instructors is $61,508. This represents a 34-week contract.
