It is there training school. They've had it for 6yrs. It started to give some of the union workers some training. I join the teamsters and go to school to get my CDL. When I'm done I can try to get a union job or go some where else. They will have recruiters comming in from union companies.

So how was your overall experience with the Teamsters school? With the union recruiters? Did the school give you enough quality training to comfortably handle the big rigs?

I'm in RI also and plan to go to the Teamster school in a couple of weeks. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Was Dennis the director when you went to the school?

Thanks,
Butch

Hey Butch, the training was great and yes dennis was the director of the school. The instructors were Moe,carl,Jimmy and my man Harry O. Harry is the full timer and the others are part time now. Follow the pre trip the way they teach it and you will not have any problems at all. Focus on your maneuvers practice every chance you can. I benefited on the rainy days because some guys didnt want to get wet and I stayed outside and worked. I graduated on time for my schedule and early by theirs. It will get frustrating when the next class after yours comes in because the yard will be a cluster f#@$. Just focus on you. Abf will come in they're very hard to get into but when the time comes put in the application. Their are local jobs around that you can get experience with. Dont be afraid to take a decent class B job if offered. I passed on one and it's turning out to be a mistake. The guy that took that job is bringing home over $900 a week working 50+ hrs a week at $16hr. Best of luck. Let me know when you start and one of these days I'll pop in to say hi to your class & the instructors.
