Default Avoiding bunking with other "sausages"...

Is there any way when you go to these cdl schools you can avoid having to bunk with other strangers who let's face it you simply can't trust and can only screw up, for various reasons (talks too much, farts too much, snores, stinks etc) your much needed sleep you will need to be able to pass the cdl test at the end of training.

I could be making too much of this but just figured I'd ask.

The question is how are you going to handle it when you do your OTR training with another driver in the truck with you 24/7?

Ear plugs will help.
I have to use them at the TS's every now and then, when I get a noisy neighbor.

I think Hobo developed what I call "Putin Syndrome."
FedEx has him driving one of those short trucks.

I think you are well within reason to not want to share a room with a stranger, I dont even want to share a room with a friend!! being in the truck is a different story, you will not be showering in the same room or arguing about what to watch on tv or about what time to go to bed or get up.
BTW, I have over 30 years driving experience and NEVER have shared a room with anyone except my wife. So I would say this myth is busted Jamie

Yes, there is. Attending one that's close to where you live certainly helps. When I went to Alliance, I never once spent a night in a motel room. However, if you don't live that close, you can probably pay for a room by yourself. Now, whenever you get a job and start into training, well, those quarters will make motel life look much easier.

Despite hobo's cynicism, he does have a point. Team driving is kinda like a motel scenario, except one person's up all night moving the room around and rocking the bed. Then again, whoever is the other driver won't be a stranger for long. Then again, that's a whole different can of worms.
