I can answer that one, no, it will not work. You need to mount it on the outside as high up as possible to clear the trailer and any tractor obstructions. I had mine mounted on the back of my Volvo 780, with about 2 inches of the top of the VuQube showing above the roof line. It worked like a champ.

One thing though, if you do get one of the units, I would caulk around the seam where the top and bottom of the unit go together, as dirt tends to get into the interior of qube and eventually gums it up. I caulked all the way around and left a 1 inch break at the back, facing trailer, to allow for expansion/breathing. I had one of the very first units, before they went national and King Dome bought them. The King Dome units seem a little better built, as I have owned both.

Was it worth it? Yes, I would not truck again without one.

I'm guessing that would be very true.

It is, nothing better than being able to watch the news or a movie in the comfort of my truck. No need for DVDs or any of that gear either. And when you are out in BFE, you always have tv to pass the time.

If you cannot, then it usually can see through it, but again, it comes down to what the manufacturer used in your paint.
I am looking for mounting options for the Vuqube. I have a 2009 Kenworth T660 with upper fairing, and their is metal flake in the paint, and I can not have a permanent mount installed.

Then you would use a no-drill mount. But if you can't get the Qube above the fairing then you would have to park so that you are not facing south.

There's also the Winegard Carryout GM-1518. People seem to like it better than the Vuqube units.

Dish Network has come out with the Tailgater too... which is less expensive.
