Do you have to have you computer on every day you start or do you input it all at the end of the day?

In answer to your question although I have yet to master the use of this DDL software (there is a learning curve) I have found that the logs it produces do update to the minute when you turn on your computer however you do have to manually input any changes of statuses as well as notes on these statuses manually. I am not sure but I believe it would be smart to update your status as often as you do now with a manual log book. I think it will take me about 1 week to become proficient using this software.

I've tried "DDL" and "Trucklogger" they are both good. I think "Laptop Logbook" is easier to use than either one of them and only costs $49. It's at Drivers Daily Log LLB Driver's daily log software .
I believe it has a 30 day trial.

Can someone tell me what else the driver would need besides a laptop and the software? I looked at sample logs on the DDL website and I'm a little confused...do you need a printer?...are most major companies allowing drivers to use this software? Whatever the answers to those questions, how would a driver scan the logs to their companies?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you would need a printer. As for if a company will accept them or not, it depends - there's a lot of companies out here.
