not sure, but wouldn't 660 watts be a bit much for a 12v dc plug in??

It says it needs a 12 volt outlet with a 12 amp rating or more and it will work.

There may be some type of technology that maximizes the input voltage internally. I have no idea how it works. Just seen this, and it is the only one I have ever seen that says it can plug into a 12 volt outlet.

if it works the way they say it does...then it would a great item for those who drive for companies that do not allow inverters

I have called and spoke to the manufactors of the wavebox and learned a little more of how it works. when it is plugged into 110volts it has 600 watts but when it is plugged into the cigarette lighter it only has 175watts. Not a lot of power but is still better than the alternatives. especially when you cannot use the big inverters. Mine is still backordered but I will update when it comes in.
