Fun Job next August/September - get paid to go to Burning Man!

Company Name: Tool Shed PDX, OR
Contact: Benjamin Grad
Phone: 206-383-7306 or [email protected]
Job Description: Please see below
Pay Rate: Salary determined by you quote.

In September of 2010, we'll be hosting a massive Fire Arts Exposition in Portland, OR. We'll be bringing MASSIVE fire sculptures from the Bay Area, Burning Man (labor day in Nevada), Seattle, etc. Many of these sculptures have transportation as a major part of the cost - with so many sculptures, it will be best for us to arrange full sized rigs to bring and potentially return the art from its home town.

What we're looking for are two owner-operator semi-rigs to start in Portland on August 15th. We'll haul massive amounts of art and gear to Burning Man, all one-way deliveries, and pick up fire sculptures to be returned to Portland for 'PDX on Fire'. Then, after September 10th or so, we'll need one or more round-trips to San Francisco, to pick up the largest pieces. The fire show itself is September 24, 25, 26 in Portland, OR. After the event, some pieces will need to return to the Bay Area.

There are some unusual perks - get free tickets to Burning Man, travel and meet some of the most interesting propane and fire sculptors around, and of course entrance to PDX on Fire itself. During Burning Man and PDX on Fire, we'll take care of your food, camping and beer.

We're looking for quotes from someone who thinks of this as the truck driving artist's opportunity of a lifetime, not someone who is going to look at the clock the whole time and wait for their paycheck. We're assuming that the right person is going to enjoy pulling up with a truck (with early entry) at Burning Man, spend a week partying, and then drive the work to Portland.

Fundamentally, the right people are going to want to get involved in this project, charging us market rates for the actual driving and shipping, but appreciating the time off to party at some of the best events of the fall.
