Cab air filter
 

I just got in a 1989 fld 120 daycab. The air conditioning is cool, but it doesn't blow out strong. Is there a cab air filter that may be clogged? We do construction work, so I'm thinking something is blocked up from all the dust. If there is a cab air filter, where is it located?

Thanks Hog, I'll check it out tomorrow. It looks like it just pops out. I'm hoping to blow it out with an air hose.

Maybe the fan needs to blow harder? 😜

It doesn't seem like this truck has a cab filter.

what i have done in the past was take the truck to the shop ask for the hose and a blow gun. then go to the passenger side, under the dash, is the evap. on my former truck, it was not in a sealed box, but out there to be seen. i used the blow gun, on low pressure, to clean the evap. look and see if the one in your truck is in the open, do the same..??

you can even use "canned air" like we use for our computers. be sure to clean up the floor oor that crap will get sucked back in again.

From my experience with air conditioners, the filter is most likely clogged. That can result in it not producing enough hot air, which you might see as a sign for that. The main job of an air filter is to sustain air particles from traveling through the ducts of an AC before they cause any damage to the entire unit. If the filter remains unserviced and unchanged for far too long, it will get clogged and obstruct an excellent airflow. In that case, the evaporator coil will probably freeze and won’t perform the function of cooling.
