Mounting Grain Vac On Truck
 

I'm looking at mounting a Walinga Grain Vac on my truck. This isn't a real issue in itself as Walinga makes truck mount kits that will bolt on. However, as usual, I want more power and speed than what they claim the unit is capable of. The blower they install(a 614) is capable of moving 5000 bushels per hour when run by a 150hp farm tractor. However running it via PTO off a 530hp Cummins will only get 2000 bu/hr. They claim rpm and torque are the limiting factors. Is there a way around this? I thought perhaps running 2 blowers but that would obvoiusly have torque implications. Do they make heavier spec PTO units? Are there ways of direct driving off the motor? Could I use a large hydraulic pump and orbit motor set up? Are my questions getting stupider as I go? I'll stop now!

You can drive a large hydraulic pump off the front of the crankshaft.

That's how municipal highway trucks, garbage trucks etc. are set up.

Stop by your local truck equipment dealer and discuss the requirements.

How About a Midship PTO
 

Just did some more research on the subject of PTOs. I came across a Midship PTO gearbox. They're used mainly on firetrucks. Anyone have experience with these?
