Are super 40's enough?

I haul grain in southern Alberta and do a lot of on farm pick ups in some less than ideal conditions. I'm looking a t a newer truck and the dealer is telling me that super 40's will be fine. Are they, or do I need full blown 46's? I'm usually grossing 63,500kgs but have "accidentally" loaded a touch more on occasion!

Super 40's are rated for 140,000 lbs, which is right at 63,500 kg's. You should be fine with a "touch" more. There are actually single axles out there that can handle that weight as well.

Thanks. I'll try to keep it under 70,000kgs.

Do you, by any chance, work for Night Runners Express, out of Killam ?

Bull 04-28-2009 02:24 PM

Nope, I try not to do much night running. Shoveling grain in the dark sucks. Never even heard of Killam!
