Mequiars

I was so impressed with Mequiars fine cut and swirl remover I thought I'd post it here just in case someone would like some info in the future.

I have an older truck that I thought only had a little oxidation on the paint, but after I started with the fine cut I couldn't believe how much there really was. Then the swirl remover took even more oxidation out. It was an unbelievable difference. It looks like it was just sprayed, other than the road scratches of coarse.
The steps I did was:
1. Fine Cut
2. Swirl Remover
3. Yellow wax

I still have to do the wax part, and when it stops raining I will. I'll post some before and after pics later after I have it complete, if it's a noticeable difference in the picture. The only before shot I have of the truck is from a distance so I'm not sure how they will compare.
Very impressed though.

Sounds like you're really getting your finish back to decent.
I like Meguiars products, but on "CarCrazy", Barry Meguiar drives me NUTS!!. He's the poster boy for a "face for radio".
By the way, how do keep from taking the paint off the rivets?

Beats me kllee, mine didn't come off, but I was doing it by hand.

I thought you might have been using a buffer, hence the fear of taking the paint off the rivets. I've come close using an orbital with compound.
Sidenote: There's a product called "Gel Gloss" used on campers and boats that does a good job on faded paint on fiberglass. A friend did his Freightliner and I thought he had his truck painted!
BTW, it's available at Camper World.

I have a can og Gel gloss that we got when we bought our trailer, never even thought twice about it just tossed it in a cabinet. I am going to try it.
