getting hott
 

ive had truck in shop 2 times for same problem 1st time they said it was the waterpump etc 950.00 later same problem next said it was thermostat and had air in system 671.00 later same problem i think they need to give me a refund and ill take it somewhere else what do you guys think and also what could be causing this it blows antifreeze all over windchild it has isx 400 cummins in it it also fills overflow up like it pushes water from one tank to the other the blows it out :evil:

What kind of condition is the radiator in ? Is it all corroded or is clean and intact. Is there anything blocking airflow to the radiator like license plates and Christmas wreaths :lol: ? How's the fan clutch, do you hear the fan cycling properly ? Sounds like they do need to refund your money 8) 8)

Easy way to check airflow through the radiator..hang a T-shirt on a hanger, in front of it, then idle up the engine as far as you can, with fan on. If airflow is stron the T-shirt should be sucked up into the grill. if airflow is bad...it'll be hanging there flapping.

Was shown that by the International dealer in Portland OR last summer. :oops: Had spent over $3,400 on the friggin engine up to that point...for a plugged charge air cooler.

Have it checked for compression getting into the cooling system. & also if there are any heater contol valves that are air operated that could leak air into the cooling system.

Man there's so many little things that affect cooling, and normally I'd say if It had been to the "shop" they'd have checked these first - but since that shop has your money and didn't fix the problem, I'd say start over.

- Belt & fan clutch good
- Cap holds pressure
- T/S closed @ startup/opened @ temp
- Bottom hose in good shape, not collapsing
- Radiator clean inside & out
- Charge air cooler leak-free

How hot does it get, and under what circumstances?
What makes it cool better, still idling or flogging air thru the rad?
How long from the pump change 'til the "air in system" BS?

Sorry to hear of your problems. My '03 C-15 started pushing water out the overflow tube.It started out minor then progressed to major every time I filled it. Result: head gasket (blown) was pumping compression into the cooling system like pdm suggested.
Next time the truck is cool fill it and then start it with the rad. cap off. If it's bad enough it'll start pushing coolant almost immediately. You may even smell exhaust around the filler neck. Fortunately mine was covered under warranty. Good luck and please let the forum know how you make out.
