lights!!!
i have problems with my taillights being very dim and also my signal lights when i turn on my parking lights...
signals, hazards and brake lights lights up fine when put in use... new lights and everything, fuses are fine... my headlights are fine... now it's to the point that it can hardly be seen.... no wire shortage anywhere on the chassis.... any clues????? |
check all your grounds, a bad ground can "feed back" and cause all sorts of problems and conditions. Easy check, use a long piece of wire as a jumper and go from the neg. on the light in question to neg. on the battery, if light gets brighter you just bypassed the problem if not keep looking

found out the problem....
the wire had a rot (rubbed off)1/4 of the way.... it was reading 1. something volts from the rotted part back.... yeah i just rerouted a new wire... thanks for looking.... |
dim lights are caused by low voltage;
measure supply voltage on the live side... if it is less than battery voltage you have resistance in that circuit (apply battery voltage to verify) measure voltage on the ground side... if any amount of voltage is found on ground side, you have resistance in that circuit (apply ground to verify) this all changes if the vehicle lighting is controlled by a bcm (multiplexed electronics) |
