Default Pyrometer?

Has anybody here mounted a pyrometer in a truck (preferably a w9) that didn't originally have one? Mine has the MPG read-out at the top/center of my gauge cluster where the pyro typically is. I'm wanting to add more fuel to the fire, and would like to have one at this point in the game to keep better tabs on things. Any pics? I'm not into hack-jobbing stuff, so no mounting them in odd/weird places.

Thanks In Advance,
Jason

It is a gauge like anyother. Should be nbd. I have put other guages in and if you route what you need sensibly it won't look hacked in, even if you need to hole saw a new hole in the dash it make it look right. I marked the spot and then masking tape over the hole to be cut, it keeps the scratches to a minimun.

Mines below the tach and mph which is not the most easy location to see depending on how you steering wheel is set. I have one of those smart wheels so maybe that makes a difference ?
I'm used to it now and mostly just take a peek at it in hard pulls.

It was factory installed.

Thanks Bobby....I didn't think of putting it there. I jusy have the 2-spoke wheel and should be able to see it fine. I appreciate the pic!

Thanks again,
Jason

When you have the dash open I'd check for a plug that's not in use that will power the light in the gauge, i.e. the truck should already be wired for the light in the gauge.

I had a lift axle gauge right where that pyro is and I hated it being there. I had the 2 spoke wheel but never could see that thing unless I leaned way forward. Now I put up with it like that for 5 years before I got my new truck. So I guess it was not too big of a deal.

You could put it in the console over your head. IIRC on my old W9 there was lots of room up there.
