'07 ULSD fuels have a lubricity specification added which should take care of the problems associated with low sulfur diesel back in '94

I've heard on the east coast of problems with water in the fuel, whether or not that's related I have no idea. It seems everyones fears were premature. Also, this fuel almost totally eliminates sulphuric acid.

The filter plugged on my Ryder leased truck a couple of months ago. I assumed the new ULSD was cleaning the varnish out of the storage tanks and truck fuel systems. Ryder assumed my problem was caused by always fueling at Flying J. Prior to the recent incident, I have not had filter problems since the 1970s.

In some instances, however, the introduction of ULSD fuel to older vehicles may affect fuel system components or loosen deposits in fuel tanks. As part of a good maintenance program, owners and operators of existing trucks and buses are encouraged to monitor their diesel-powered vehicles closely for potential fuel system leaks or premature fuel filter plugging during the changeover to ULSD fuel."
