On the road again...
 

Ok, so I have 24 months experience but only 8 months in the previous three years, stopped driving in 2011 to go back to use my VA Bill....98% of my driving was pulling tankers for Jim Aartman and then Ruan after they bought out Aartman, I really loved pulling those tankers BUT with my not so current driving experience tanker companies, Indian River etc, won't bring me on until I get more recent time..... sooo it looks like a I'll be heading to the training/bottom feeders for a bit... Also living in San Diego is a bit of hindrance for now..

I have talked to the following companies who are willing to bring me on, either a road test and I go or may have to spend a week or so with a trainer they say,

They are:
Knight - Midwest to Western
Western Express (Flat bed) - OTR
Werner - Western or 48
KKW - Western 11 only
Gordon Trucking - Western States also
Swift -offered a hazmat/twic run from San Diego to Phoenix, home weekends
FFE - OTR

The above companies I will be visiting in person tomorrow in Fontana/Pomona/Ontario to talk directly to their drivers and see first hand the equipment and terminals..

Navajo Express
Central Refrigerated
KLLM - says 3 weeks w/ trainer :O
Henderson - I still need to talk to them...
Schneider

So I have read all the horror stories of each above companies, some not so bad, KKW, Gordon in particular...
Any constructive comments and information on any of these companies will be greatly appreciated...

Now I am not set on staying in socal so if I move to the midwest next year Gordon and KKW are off the table... unless I stay for a year then move on//

Oh Melton will bring me on after I get 2 months recent... I will not leave a company after only two months to go to another unless the crap is REAL bad..
