Pennsylvania Gas Well Trucking Jobs
Does anyone know of any companies or jobs available in the PA area? I hear there is quite a natural gas boom in PA and I may be relocating there. Any information would be appreciated.

Where is it you're looking to relocate? I'm in Washington PA which is pretty much the most western part of the state, there are plenty of wells here being run by Range Resources and Chessapeake Energy. I haul fresh water for Range, not Frac/Brine water or the residual waste so I can't comment too much on that side of the hauling, although I could name the companies; Highland Environmental Somerset Pa, Deeter Farms Cooperstown PA, Frac Tech Brownsville PA just to name a few.
Frac Tech hires a lot but I'm not sure where the pay starts. I started at 16.00 an hour which is about the norm, a little more with some companies, a little less with others. My question would be where is it that you're relocating from? I came from Florida, my wife is in school here so I figured I'd give it a shot and I personally hate it. If you're not ready for extreme driving conditions than I would think twice. The hills and small roads are very nerve wracking, and when it snows it changes the whole landscape although Spring should be sprouting soon, it's been a very mild winter. If you have any specific questions just ask and I'll see if I can help. If you're used to the cold and driving conditions up here then it might be for you, but if you're like me and from the south it has been a dose of reality to say the least and I'm counting down the days until I can get out of here. |

Like millersod said, you'd better be ready for extreme driving conditions there. It's nothing to come to a 10-12% grade on a hill around here, not to mention all the tight turns, the weather, etc. Edit: Forgot to mention, another company that's hiring in the area is BJ Services. They don't so much do the water hauling, but more of the equipment itself. I've also seen them hauling liquified gases, but not sure what was in the tanks. They have a terminal in Anmore, WV, which is just south of Clarksburg, WV on I-79. When the gas boom started here, I checked with them about a driving job. At the time, their starting rate for Class-A drivers with Hazmat was $13.00/hr. That was at least 2-3 years ago. |
Put a resume on PIOGA. Also try Marcellus Shale Coalition.

What do expect on that GOAT PATH of a road. They can't keep the trucks in their lane with all the creators in the road. Who's bright idea was it anyway to scrape the road? What an improvement that made! I'm waiting for the tractor to shack apart one day! |
They run you across that road? Ouch. I did read that it's scheduled to be repaved sometime this year.
How do you like all the equipment they're moving into Idamay (top of the hill from Farmington)? That's for the pipeline construction that's going to be starting up very soon. |

Why do people come on here, post a question, and then never return to discuss what's being discussed? It's pretty effing annoying if you ask me, me and a few others are taking time to give you some insight on what goes on here, list company names and our experiences and you don't even show back up for a "thanks", or "I've changed my mind". I think we'd be better off to tell him that it's always sunny here, roads are 4 laned wherever you go, and you can make 6 figures working 6 months out of the year.
