Companies hiring in North Carolina....
Hi, Folks!
I did a search, but didn't find specifically what I was looking for. My question is if someone here knows of/works for/ or recruits for companies that are based in North Carolina. It's been fun where I presently am, but this "company subsidizing" is killing my pocket! I still can't afford my beloved CAD sticky thing!! And I'm certain I've missed meeting some of you because of it!! Ahem... Anyway, does anyone know of any companies that are currently hiring in the Winston Salem, NC area? Thanks in advance... Jewels Ummmmmmm. No,,,,ya haven't. Hehehehe. You're just lucky you're a "girl"...or I mighta HA'ed you about looking harder! Now........Some of those outfits are better than others. If you do not mind hauling fuel.....start there. That will be steadier work. EPES has a "nick-name". It is......... Every Empty on Sunday......... Got that from a driver! Caldwell Freight and Sun Belt Furniture....are both furniture carriers, as their primary. The LTL companies....well they are LTL companies.... IF you manage to find a decent job with one of them...let me know. I get into that area frequently....and damn sure like coffee! |

Heehee...he thinks I'm a "girl"!! :)
Orange,
Thank you for not roughing me up! And thanks, again, for that list! I'm glad to know you love coffee--it's a sure 'nuff bet, then! W., I'm going to apply to most every one of them--except for the ones where I'd have to buff up like Ah-nold... I'd like to keep what's left of my girl-ish figure!! Jewels P.S., I'm sort of scared of the idea of yankin' a tank, what with the rollover risk they're known for, but I'm willing to take a shot at it if it'll let me buy Orange some joe!! :) |

So which of those companies are you applying to?

None of these companies are hiring....and those who do are not worth a paper they placed their ad on.
They all place advertisements in the book but when you try to apply then you get the real truth about driver shortage. |

While many carriers have laid off or cut back on hiring, there are still some who are hiring. I would just keep applying and sooner or later you will find a company. You may also want to check with the local state employment office. Many companies post jobs with them. I have gotten a lot of applicants from state employment offices.

Bass Ackwards...
Hey, Folks!
I've got some "loose ends" to tie up before I'll be free to accept an orientation invitation, and right now, I've got my hands full with that! It's encouraging, though, just to have some names to work with! Thanks, all, for the help and the feedback! And wish me luck on this (groan) rather huge move! Jewels |
They answered! Really!!
Bulkmatic got back to me! Quickly!! I just LOVE a responsive company!! :)
I'm sending them everything I can think of that they might want--all the way down to my genetic sequencing! Haven't heard much from the others, yet, but I'm kind of glad. Got a lot of packing left to do! Orange? Can't you just smell that coffee?? heehee Jewels P.S., Gman, I'll do just that...never hurts to cut a wide path, eh? |
Okay...here goes..
Raven said to call back in April--they're only accepting applications at this time. Howell's requires their trucks to be parked at the terminals during hometime. Not ready for that, yet. Waiting on a "call back" from Christy Trkng. Went to put in an application, in person, and got an impromptu interview FROM HELL--complete with Satan!-- at a local company. Needless to say, I will keep looking! Anyone heard of "Best Cartage"? AND SINCE WHEN DOES GETTING STUCK IN THE MUD MEAN I RAN MY TRUCK OFF THE ROAD??? "Satan" showed me this fax that had that very charge listed!!! I've NEVER run my truck off the road!!!! WTH???? Well, back to pavement pounding... Jewels |
heh, I've heard they can charge you for getting your truck stuck in the mud, glad they didn't charge me but they can. also have you looked at salem leaseing out of winson salem? what area do you live in. I live east of I-95 so pickings are slim out here but there are still options.
