Looking for Feedback on TLI (Transco Lines) out of Russellville, Ar
 

Anyone have any "first hand" experience with these guys... they look to be my next up and coming ...hmmmm experience.

Don't everyone respond at once.

I worked there, but my info is 5 years old, so may not be relevant.

We quit for the lack of support that I got from safety back then. I slipped and hit my leg hardat a flying J on the way home, about a day away from home. Didn't think nothing about it, and went to the doctor for something unrelated after I got home. My leg was swollen, hard, and discolored badly and they feared that a blood clot may travel from the big bump in my leg. So I called safety, told them what happened, and was told that I should have told them the day before, when it happened, state law says so.....blah, blah, blah. To make the long story short, no such law, and when I confronted them with my info 3 weeks later while turning the truck in, they remembered that I was right. All I wanted was the medical treatment (an ultra sound), nothing else. No insurance yet, and the doctor wouldn't do it without payment.

There equipment was great, much better than your average company truck. We ran dedicated FedEx, and other than the lying safety guy things were good. Pay was good, home time wasn't bad.

But, I couldn't stay where my health was so unimportant. They weren't bad, but like I said this was in 2004

HB....Haven't talked with one of their driver's in month's......but if you remember.....I suggested them to you a few mnth's ago....when the word from the driver's I had spoken with was good. But....it has been a while.

Pete 386's are what they are driving. The newer trucks have super-single drives and APU's.

Yes. I remember and Thanks... I did put them on my "radar" then when you suggested them.. I've talked to 3-4 of their drivers since then... but my situation( and sub needs, priorities, etc have changed somewhat since last time I was "aggressively" looking. Hell, I'm always looking for a better deal-- arn't we all.

Thanks for the response and info... yeah even if it's 5 years old. Some things don't change-- like basic "nature" of a company. Yes what you reporting there sounds like most of the "bad" dirt I can google on them... people with medical issues & company not "backing you up" Canning drivers for "worker's comp" issues.

Where did you live? in relation to their yard? Did they get you home for your hometime? Robert, their hiring manager- claims they will likely "bobtail" me home from their drop yard in Little Rock. It's 158 miles one way to my home 20. This sounds like B.S. to me- and whenever I start hearing b.s. I get cold feet. That's alot of fuel and they likely won't really be doing that. I'm still considering it real carefully.

we lived over 300 miles away, but we ran dedicated out of St. Louis, so we were in Sacramento one weekend, and St. Louis the next, and would just go home. That did not count as hometime. We live 90 miles south of St. Louis off US 67. We never took any hometime until we quit, we were home every other weekend, in a hotel the other time, and they paid for the hotel for the most part.

Robert Smith is a piece of work. He is the reason quite a few people left there.

I did like the job, but when my health was at stake, and my doctor said that the injury to my leg could prove to be life threatening, I made my choice. I stayed off the leg for a month, and then turned the truck in to them. If they would have supported me from the get go, I (we) would not have quit.

The dedicated run we had was gravy, even though we ran it all winter, I really liked it.

I hope you will like it too, and like I said, at the time they had great equipment. Here is our last truck with them, 4528

How about ...rules... and all the crap they don't tell you about until you're there in orientation after leaving the last paying gig behind?

any rules like-- if you want to 'bobtail' off the yard to get a bite to eat-- you need a permission slip signed by at least 4 people and sign away your first born as collateral.

do they have strict "safety" rules:
like the qualcomm won't work while the truck is moving.. or even more.. it's mounted back in the rear of the sleeper?

nothing like that when we worked there, nothing to buy, we bobtailed it home after orientation, I did mention we lived over 300 miles away south of St. Louis. Loaded our stuff up, and then got dispatched from home.

Those pictures where from when we turned the truck in. We had 2 cats in the truck, and I make double sure to take pictures of everything to ensure that I get any deposit back, which we did.

We didn't have to buy anything, didn't get charged anything other than pet deposit, which we got fully refunded, no problem.

Payroll was on the money every time.

Why don't you ask recruiting about the things you may have to buy from them, things do change. There were a decent company, with the exception of my issue with safety, but that guy is gone.

PS ......those pictures are my proof you can keep a clean truck with a pet in it, or two as we did.

Yeah....hard to jump ship when everyone else is in the same boat!

couple things do bother me with this company..

like they start you out at .33cpm.

and where as they have nice equipment..( that reminds me of CFI ).

where the equipment is so nice.. if you scratch it.. you're fired.

where the equipment is so nice.. orientation is like a "contest"- where they take 90 in the front door but only hire 10 at the end of the day. And give you a test where they don't tell you how you scored.

where the equipment is so nice.. if you have an accident.. their first question is "is the equipment ok"

maybe I'm just paranoid ...
