Pascall Truck Lines
Anyone have any recent experience with this company?
I've been to the website and realize they are a coolie carrier, work 90 get paid for 10, blah, blah, blah. Just want the facts if anyone has any on them. |
my mom drove for them for over a year ending about a year ago....... all she did was complain about miles.........but for her personal reasons she didnt leave...... miles were crappy 1200 one week, 2000 the next.....total coolie carrier. I warned her before she went and when she applied.

I guess I left a h out of their name.
Thanks marcel, when your mom complains, ya know it has to be bad. I stayed at my current company longer than I have wanted to also. But sometimes it's just what ya have to do. I'm ready to move on soon tho, just not sure who to try next. |
if im not mistaken they do alot of NE also....you being in wisconsin, your in a perfect area to run to the NE:). I do believe they have a regional program but i dont know where you have to live at.....

I heard that PTL has a lot of mexican drivers...and the miles are low. Just what I heard, I've talked to a few of their drivers, as I live in Ky where they are based out of. I though about leasing on with them, but the hometime was terrible and mileage pay wasn't too hot.

I had a friend of mine being leased to them as a team.Off course he was getting good miles until he got caught.:eek2:Then the miles weren't good and he left them. But boy,he had a lot of stories to tell me when he was racing a team from fl to ca and still beat them.

Reminds me of the hard heads around here. No way in the world will they listen. They have to take a knock on the pumpkin every time...... I guess that I'll never understand.:block: |
BTW.....reminds me of a story from my first couple of months of fuel hauling back in '06............
I arrived at that coolie carrier terminal in Indy with 7500 gallons of #2 diesel to put in the ground. I had just hooked up my hoses when a middle-aged gal came out the door and proceeded to inform me that I needed to move immediately because she was done for the day and needed to go home..... Well............I had an OTR flashback. I just couldn't believe that I was being addressed in such a manner. Then it all made sense........ I was back in that world again. It sucked. I pulled the hoses, and took the load to the next customer. When asked the next day what had happened...... I was informed by the Director of Operations to do the exact same thing if presented with a similar situation at any customer facility. Stay away Merv. |
I deleted their email after the first couple of responses I got on here.
Got a letter yesterday saying my child support obligation is nearing the the end....I may go flip some burgers instead. But as for now, back to the truck and my XM radio, but no PTL for me. |

BOL;) |
I checked into them about a year ago. The recruiter was real honest in telling me that we were better off staying where we were at. Their insurance is really bizarre for the first year and very expensive. She said they have a lot of small runs and not to many over 1000 miles.

I was talking to one of their drivers at the TA in Wytheville, VA a couple weeks ago. He said he's been getting 2500 miles or so, but he's been there 2 years and he only gets .35 per mile.
Here's a big kicker, too. Anytime you run west of Memphis, you drop from whatever your pay rate is to .30 per mile. Yeah, that would suck. About the only positive thing I heard about them is they do not have forced dispatch into NYC. I guess you have to fill out a little form in orientation and mark whether you would or wouldn't go into New York. He said he marked wouldn't and has never had a problem out of it, but he does run into the Northeast quite a bit. He also said he stays out 21 days most of the time, but he didn't say anything about what their official home time policy is. Also, most of the trucks I see look like they are total junk. I haven't seen a decent looking PTL company truck for a long time... |

I have two deliveries this evening. Marion, IN and Kokomo, IN. Marion is the longest run. I'm gonna call up and see if they will consider paying me less for that one. Yeah right. |
it amazes me at how desperate drivers keep these p.o.s. companys in business. don't you people realize that they only get away with it because drivers allow them too.
