Besides many of their drivers not being fit to hold a cdl they are usually struggling money wise running short mile runs of 250-400 at just over $1.00 a mile ...Dart sux.

Yep....seen the ads.

I wanted NC to TX and back and they said not a problem.

One of our trailer guys quite and went to work for them as a company driver and he liked it and said he'd go back in a minute. Said he left on good terms and if the stick hauling business continues to drop off....the whole company may be at Dart :)

I just wanted to see how it e\was fron the O/O point of view.

Dart trans a good company to work for ...Must have come up since my last time OTR way way way back ast september ...Seriously when one says dart you could just insert prime or cr england as the companies are about the same .

is that first hand knowledge big jeep? you drove there, or just heard rumors? whay do y'all answer questions when you have no actual knowledge. dart may be good for him, it may be good for others, it may suck for some, some may go broke, some may be getting rich. just your way of bashing everyone else.

No...JEDFxg...that is my stance on Dart based on the following ,personal observation of drivers/equiPment ...And conversation with their drivers ...You know that is what one does when looking at future perspective employers , And Dart fits the critera for bottom feeder catagory of companies .

Now Jedfxg ... you stated "it might be good for some bad for others"...well that's the case with any job , But you then stated "SOME MAY GO BROKE ...SOME MAY GET RICH "...now JEDfxg I would pretty much discredit you as knowledgeable at this point with this statement ...No one gets "RICH" pulling a dry-van for a large company...And no one gets "RICH" leasing a truck from or to a large company pulling a dry-van ,However they do often go broke and those don't go completely broke certainly are'nt raking in the cash ...

And it's that optimistic future lease driver who sees the inflated smoke/mirrors potential earnings of a lease op deal that's eager to lease a truck and he/she thinks they will be different than the last guy ,and with a dash of trucker math it all looks promising until..."REALITY" sets in and real math/finances take over where optimism,hopes/dreams ,and trucker math left off ...

again, no first hand knowledge there big jeep. you do seem to know alot about large carriers. how is your job with werner..no wait you quit them. i mean how are things with gts, damn, again you quit them to. now who is it? cfi? another large company? you should know better by now. here is my knowledge, limited at best. all of the companies that are asked about here are all the same. some suck for one guy, while another guy can make it work. msot recruiters will expand on the truth to get you in, or at least paint a pretty picture and then it all changes after or during orientation. some guys may actually do well with a lease purchase (although i do agree that i do not see how). what many fail to remmeber is you never hear a guy telling everyone how good it is, but you will hear 20 guys telling you how bad it is. why do we bash people and companies that we know nothing about??

Well if I spoke to 30 random dart drivers and got the same story I would'nt say that I knew nothing about them ...And by your statement having worked there does'nt matter b/c that would just be an employee with a bad experience... Now if I want pointers on how to ditch/roll a set of doubles/tripples I'll ask a FedEx driver .

I gave up on Dart and signed on with Lawrence Trasportaion out of Roanoke VA. Seem to be a good bunch of folks. Talked to several drivers I know there and they all like it.

i think jeeps advice is sound.
my research convinced me to stay where im at.
all these big drybox companies are much the same. i found that if i went back on the road my income would drop and i would work much more days and hours.
i see many people who came off the road recently collecting unemployment as the new democrat majority you elected to change things is strangling the economy for political gain.
its a bad time to change jobs. my seniority has enabled me to keep working but im commuting 43 miles one way.i hit 70 hours yesterday.
lumber and pulp mills are shutting down and many people i know who drive day cabs are alternating between unemployment and short work periods. i know of one who returned to otr
