I guess it’s going to be one of those wait and see kind of things. I want to drive for a flatbed company and the home time (if true) they offer suits me just fine. Unfortunately, because I live in SE Florida and have limited experience, pickings are slim. Most of the local flatbed carriers want between six months to two years experience.

Just stick it out til you get a year under your belt. Any other company in south FL is going to want you to stay out for weeks. As long as i'm getting paid i dont care what the truck condition is in.

550. a week dont sound like good money to me but they do get you home every week. I got a buddy there (who also quit Melton Truck Lines) and he says they ask you if you want to come home of of you want to stay out for the weekend.

They want a clean MVR and they do the hair sample. Thay are not as bad as Melton.

That's my plan for now, get more time and experience under my belt. Once the house sells, I'll be moving to Tenn. and I should have more options.

Unbelievable, either Cypress is starting to turn things around slowly or it was a fake Cypress truck. I passed one today that was a newer International, the trailer looked like dog poo but the truck looked like a 2005-06 at the worst and in great shape.
