How long do i have to wait to be hired w/ a record?
I'm 25 years old, been with the same company for 4 years. I've aquired 2 backing accidents (both under $500 in damages, no police involved, no citation), i backed into a fence, building , etc. Which I think is normal while you're still young and learning, and I want to move past this and not let it affect my future. I am sure a lot of companies are going to turn me away immediately when they see "2 preventables" on my record, even if it wasn't a big deal.
I also have a speeding ticket in my car for doing 89 in a 70 mph zone back in Nov 2007. My question is how long do I have to wait for these companies to stop giving a damn about what I've done? a year? 2 years? 3 years? And when I say companies, i mean good ones. The ones that pay. UPS , fedex, R&L, yellow, saia freight, etc. thanks |
at least 37 months before any tickets come off your DMV report. If those companies reported those "minor" accidents to DAC, you could be on the hook for them for 7 years. You need to slow down, think about what you are doing and GET OUT AND LOOK before you back up. And no, 2 accidents and a major speeding ticket is not "normal".....

By the way, SUPER-SIZE my meal please. |
Your lucky that cop didn't add 1 mph and make it 20 over and that is considered reckless driving. A big no no!

For what it's worth, if you do double the posted speed limit you can be arrested and your vehicle impounded on the spot.

do 150% of the limit in a big rig and consider yourself lucky if the cops don't shoot you.
Speeding is a moving violation. 19 over in some states is wreckless driving. Companies don't like moving violations, accidents, or failures on the whiz quiz. Period. Don't agree with it? TOO F$^(ING BAD! You made your bed. Now sleep in it. |
