i think i saw at least 4 jevic trucks today between madison and rockford.

There is a small handful of Jevic drivers still running, clearing the freight out of their system, but they'll be done in a couple weeks. But the majority are gone and pretty shocked. We've talked to a lot of Jevic drivers the past two days...most of them long-termers and most pretty shell-shocked at what happened.

Got passed by 5 bobtail Jevic trucks headed south on 65.Each one had two guys in it and one had "We got F%^ked" writen in the dirt on the back of the cab.

Double L 05-20-2008 02:20 PM

Yeah they did get f*cked pretty good! I thought Jevic was doing good if you ask me! I'm curious as to who will be next. :?

Hmmm and I only work for a small 80 truck company. And some of those are O/O.

There are a whole slew of anti-trust suits from various organizations against Jevic and other carriers. I am sure that this is just the tip of an iceberg that we just picked up on radar 150 miles away.

Then you throw in cutting rates to where you are getting less per mile than it costs to run the truck, and making dumb decisions. I was talking to a Jervic driver in Fl. about a month back, he had run from Atlanta to Fort Myers with two pallets and as far as he knew was going back empty. Now you can't tell me their F.R. on 4,000 lbs was good enough to pay for a 900 and some mile round trip. If it was I will sell my lowboy and by a van and pick up the slack.

Just seen on the Philadelphia news that 1,200 Jevic employees are suing the co. for not getting the federally mandated 60 day notice. Going get interesting now.

Walking Eagle 05-22-2008 01:34 PM

Hitman, what are they suing ???? The truck are all on leases, the trailers are all on leases, the yards are all on leases. Yes, they own some office furniture and maybe a few computors or two, most of that is least to. This is just some shyster attorny saying "Give me 300 dollars each and I will get you all you are owed"
