Robertsons Transport in So.California.

Well, I put in an app here and was told to call them back Monday in regards to an age-insurance restriction.
They told me 25 and up was their standpoint, but since I turn 25 in June, they were going to try to get me in a little, sooner.
Anywho, I figure, now(March) or then(June) would be better than never.
This company hauls dry cement and gravel products to batch plants all over Southland.
The hours seem a little, too much, but if I want to get the horrors of my previous, screw-up out of my head, this is the best and only way to do that.
I just finally decided I'll never be able to move along(school/career-wise) until I at least get two, clean years driving something big.

The man I spoke with in Rialto said they usually run five, 12 hr shifts.
But, as of late, it's been down to 8's and 10's.
Fine with me as long as I have part of a Saturday off.

Schneider just took over our P&D account with Walmart so there are drivers transfering all over the place.

Did not effect my division, Walmart Produce, except that we are gaining 6 more drivers this week. Will have to see how it effects my routes.

Robertson's has the rep of being the biggest union buster in Southern California. That company has destroyed more good jobs and replaced them with low wage "trainee" jobs. Have they told you the powder train guys make percentage ????? The only ones that get paid by the hour are the ready mix drivers and they are way under the standard. 28% of nothing is still nothing....51% of Robertsons was recently purchased by Mitsubishi Cement of Japan. Robertson's has a horrendous accident/labor record....That's why ALL their trucks have that "No CDL-No problem-"we train" sticker on it". How do I know this ? Because the Teamsters have been fighting Robertsons @the NLRB for years. "Robertson's" the Wal-Mart of the concrete industry in Southern California. Robertsons gives away a yard of concrete just to steal business. Call them and ask how much 5 yards delivered is (make up an address). Then call 3-4 of the competition and ask them..Where do you think that cheap concrete comes from ? All the rock and sand is the same in California. It comes from driver wages....(and CRAP benefeits) Good luck You'd be better off at Holiday Rock (Adelanto) or Service Rock (Victorville-Barstow). At least they treat their employees well. Also Goodspeed Tank Lines is a decent place to work, I've known Buck Goodspeed for years. (Lemon and "I" Aves) Hesperia

@feederfred

-Only reason I'm going with them is because I'm currently limited on options as far as that roll-over goes.
It's been four months now, and I'm not ready to give up the search anytime soon.
Aside from that, I'm occupying myself with full-time security work right now, and a college class or two.
I intend to get a few, more good years out of driving the truck, then I'll happily move onto something else.
Not to mention, driving without any screw-ups for awhile will be the only way I'll keep the accident from interfering with my daily life from then, on.
A Helluva lot cheaper, than say, a $50/hr shrink.
