arrived home at 2pm -- will have to leave out early Monday. But there seems to be a problem-- Fleet manager said don't get used to this-- he won't be able to allow me to go 120 miles out of route to get home every weekend.

Suggested I needed to leave a personal vehicle 200 miles away in Olive Branch-- if I wanted to be home.

So what happened to Regional -- Work 5-6 days week- home 3 out of 4 weekends? not -- occasionally "by the house" for 5 -10 hours once a week(usually weekends).

Looks like we're going to have to figure a plan out Monday. The truck is getting lighter with less of my stuff in it-- rather than heavier.

ok, once again-- it's my location..location..location. According to Heartland's policy-- they can't bend me more than 10% out of rt on any load to get me home. But, Mountain Home, Ar is more than 10% out of 99.99% of any freight route. So, it looks like I'll be working System without their home time policy or the higher pay.

But on the bright side-- since they are paying me less per mile-- I'll probably get more miles than the SYSTEM drivers.

So what happened to Regional? Did you ask him? I thought this was a major part of the deal....

Yeah, his answer started with..."I don't know what the Recruiter....."

First, he sent out this load assignment.. then tried to switch it-- said he couldn't let me go through the house with it-- to far out of rt- I'd have to drop it in Ft. Smith. Then they wanted me to pickup a live load Saturday(today) between Noon-1700 in Ft. Smith- and take that through the house and deliver Monday morning 6am Chicago.
so if that hadn't been ready until 5pm+4hrs to house= 9pm Saturday then 10hour drive from home to Chicago--- that would have been 13hours tops at home(mostly sleeping hours) .

Yes, 3 out of 4 weekends at home was a major part of the whole Regional concept that I signed on for.

But alas, a good job is hard to find- at .43cpm being worked to death OTR-- is better than jumping ship suddenly for say-- KLLM( .43cpm- unknown milage(promises)+ unknown home time.
It's just the principle of the fact-- that it looks like they are going to try to run me 7days a week- at .43 instead of system pay of .48cpm.

This weekend will work out to 34+ hours-- and that's ok- I got to get re-established and get some $$$$$ coin flowing in- but it looks like a big dark cloud looming on the horizon-- constant head aches trying to get home for the weekends.

And it's not like I don't like the idea of running 3000 miles in 7days. Hell, this last week I actually ran that 3000 in more like 6 days--- and I could turn that in 5 just as easy if there were no "hitches", "snags", Murphy's Law- then hit home for weekend(recover).

ok, next time I pay $10.00 for a shower-- I'll tape it to the trip sheet and try turning it in-- but I'm betting Heartland doesn't reimburse for such things like:

showers
truck parking fees

Just a thought here Borgie......Have you and the wife discussed moving to an area that is closer to the main freight lanes, so it would be easier for you to swing through the house?

I realize that Mnt. Home may be where all the family is......but it isn't that far from the Joplin MO...Fort Smith AR...or even Sikeston MO areas', to Mountian Home...for visiting on days off.

Just a thought.

I'm a home owner- with a 5.75 fixed mortgage with only 5 years to payoff- in
a area where the market value has dropped-- no moving isn't a option.
