Heartland MW Regional vs Shaffer Dedicated
Going back on the road after driving local for a bit. Spoke w/both companies and heres what they said. Heartland reg: avg 2200mpw at .415cpm home 3 out of 4 weekends out 14 days once a month. Shaffer dedicated avg 2500mpw at .38cpm home 1.5days per week. Please advise any experience w/either company which one is most realistic for hometime and pay

Had a friend just leave Heartland, he was told he woud get 2200 mpw but he didn't even get close to that. He worked there for two months and was only getting about 1500 mpw.
|
That's about normal if you're going home for 3 or 4 days a week.

In the mid 90's I worked for Heartland Regional out of Columbus Oh. I only averaged about 1800 miles a week. Lots of shorthaul Sears fingerprint loads and fingerprint mattress loads. I was told Carlyle and Dubois Pa was as far east as i would have to go. I was in south Philly or Elizabeth NJ every week. The recruiters and the dispatchers don't live in the same universe. My career with them was very short.

Maybe a silly question from an old timer, but how the heck do you average only 2200 mpw and stay out 3/4 weeks at a time pulling a dry box for a company that advertises high% drop and hook and no touch ?? Something don't add up but must get real familiar with the truckstop queens

Heartland MW REg vs Shaffer Dedeicated
Trinitron, it would not be 3-4 weeks out. It would actually be home 3 out of 4 weekends and "once a month" i would go out 14 days because I live on the extreme northern part of their hiring territory for MW regional and they can't guarantee home every weekend on this board.

If you hear or see something once then not a big deal but if you see the same thing over and over again, that should be a HUGE warning sign. You do see alot of very positive posts on Crete/Shaffer etc. If I personally was going to roll the dice with someone, I think that Crete would be a better bet. BOL |
