Okay I've searched and can't find any topic about this company. Can someone please enlighten me. I am interested in the Western Regional, the CA regional and the AZ regional?

Thanks

I worked for them for a few weeks. Two other guys from my school went with them too, one lasted 2 months and the other lasted 4.

I don't want to do a hatchet job on them but I got a very overwhelming feeling that they could care less about their drivers. The trainer I went out with got exactly zero support from them out on the road and then they tried to dump me off on another driver when he broke down. The other driver planned to hang out in San Diego for a few days and go to Tijuana and pick up a hooker. He was kind enough to invite me to go along.

The website shows a picture of the gorgeous building, what it doesn't show is the old double wide mobile on the other side of the parking lot where drivers go.

Good luck.

Thanks for the response so far...

I've been to the site and spoken to a recruiter.

I was just fishing for info about the company...

Went to TJ huh... Use to go there every sat when I was in High School and until I hit 21.

Double wide for a lounge... Wow! bigger then what I'm use too!

Thanks guys....

Here is something that began with their sister company but basically ended up being about Systems Transport.

My husband has said he has spoken to allot of Systems drivers lately and all of them seem happy to be working there.

I ran for their 11 western reefer division 2 years ago until I was offered a job where I could be home everyday.

No night or weekend dispatch at that time. You spoke with the shop in case you needed help.

Nice trucks. I had a 2005 379 with 34k miles. cd player, big soft seat. 10 speed which sucked ass running the Siskyous or hwy 97. The a/c could not keep the cab cool if I was parked. No fun at Buttonwillow in August trying to go to sleep at 7 pm.

I was only there about a month, so no real time to get a feel for them as a whole. The above things are what I noticed right away.

You might take a look at Sward Trucking. They are a Cali company. http://www.swardtrucking.com/

Best of Luck

Colin,

never been to Buttonwillow, is it a dry heat? lol... Been back east in the heat/humidity, I hated that!!! Take a shower and not able to dry off was not fun. 379 huh, I never liked having to peek around those stacks on my first KW.

Stan,

Thanks for the info I'll look them up now.

You all stay safe and warm,

pb

I have been with system over a year now. I started out running 48+ Canada now I am running the NW regional division. The drivers lounge is double wide but I don't spend alot of time in there other than to shower. I figure you either want to drive and make money or worry about what the amenities are in the drivers lounge.

I have never had any problem with miles or home time when I wanted to be home. I have always had good response to any maintenance required on my truck in the yard or on the road. Alot depends on your dispatcher on how you are treated, I had one that didn't give a shit so I fired him and got a different one, the one I had was really good and the one I have for the NW regional fleet is really good as well.

I can't really comment on the PHX or CA regional fleets, I just know the CA guys run out of French Camp, CA and the PHX are right in PHX.

I hate to correct anyone on anything, but the company is named System Transport. It was just going to make me nuts!

:D

dewercs2 12-30-2007 08:43 AM

Thanks Colin... :D Maybe that's why I couldn't find any info on them

BigDaddyD,

The recruiter told me I would be driving out of the French Camp terminal.

I have to agree about the lounge. When I was with Davis and at the terminal we had 2 lounges, smokers and non smoking. They were only 15x15 rooms with a TV and 2 couches. But then everything was so well kept for us. I won't miss the 15 minute wait for hot water to take a shower though... Big thing, though is I'll miss the people up there.

You might come into Contact with another driver from Davis that will be running the Heavy Haul side up there. He goes by Goin For It.

Thank you all for the response...

Hello all....

Ive been cleared to go back to work after 6 months and my last company has gone all owner operator, so I need to find a new company.

Does anyone have any recent or additional information on System Transport. I am looking at Regional Calif Run. I've been on their web site so Im looking for drivers input. How's the company doing now with the rise of fuel and economy?

Thanks all,

Paul

You could give my husband a call! He may not know much about the Calif Run but as far as the northwest heavy haul division they are keeping him busy.

The health insurance is horrible. There is a $500.00 deductible per a person before the insurance will pay out one dime. And your co-pays do not count as part of your deductible. We pay $500.00 a month for the insurance and it is almost like not having any insurance.

We wish you the best and if you want you can give my husband a call.

Take Care,

Thanks GFI'w,

I got your PM but forgot to reply last night....

Im going to call the recruiter for system today and ask if I have to go through retraining since Ive been out of the truck for 6 months, I hope not.

I have Goin For it's number. I will try and give him a buzz in couple days. Jen has given me some last minute honey do's she wants done before I leave so I've got to get those done fast.

I'll give sward trucking a call just to see what they have to offer. Im not to sure about the cab over though... If I had been in one of those when I rolled I don't think I would have been so lucky.

Paul

cant believe believe a california trucker never drove by buttonwillow on i5
west of bakersfield

dewercs2 06-02-2008 11:46 AM

lol.. homer... :D

I drove for a flatbed company out of missoula, MT. I was all 48 but would have stops in yuba city, stockton, sacramento or places near there. I would then drop onto the 99 and run south/north to come from or get home.

I spoke to the recruiter tonight. He told me it might be hard to get in with lack of driving time. I'm to call him later this week.

Well.... i'm on the hunt again.... off to career builders and monster.
