Wisconsin based companies for the NEWBIE
What are you suggestions for the best Wisconsin based company for me. I am looking for reginal , dedicated or local. I would really like to be home every couple of days and weekends. Ok now that everyone is laughing their arses off. Thats what Im hoping to find. Im leaning towards flatbed or tanker - I would think these would keep me closer to home. Im located in / near Appleton area.

well,
Gordon Trucking has a office in Green Bay area/ and a training program / and regional fleet. Millis- is there in Wisconsin Roehl- WEL- Schnider How much of a newbie are you? This might limit some of your avail options. The tanker yankers- can suggest several also I bet, as they would know which tanker outfits hire limited experience drivers. |
REAL GREEEEEEEEEEN
I start classes after the first right now Im looking at options to keep me closer to home. I just dont want to get stuck out for a couple weeks on end. Im actually looking at getting into UPS, ABF etc. But I need some practical experience when I get done. The bad thing about the school here is its 9 weeks long full time during the day 43 hours a week. So I have to leave my day job and pick up a part time thing. Im hoping I could get a dock worker job at one of the LTL companines around here while Im in school and them maybe start driving for them. If that doesnt pan out then on to a reginal job. |

A very good friend of ours is the union stuard for the local ups he drives piggy backs for them. Hes told me its tough but not impossible. Just got to be ready to go when it happens. Really dont care what I have to do load trucks or what ever.
Hope you get on your way soon 11 hours really sucks |
Try Roehl they sometimes have local jobs that will get you home every day in the Appleton area . They have a drop yard close by .
|
I didnt know that- Yellow is another one Im going to keep knocking on the doors too

Roehl has a terminal in Kaukauna. Right next door to them is Overnight or whatever they are called now, and next to that is mw trucking. Could also try Paper Transort in GreenBay or John Veriha out of Marinette.

I just spoke with Roehl - they dont have "local" routes in the Appleton or Green Bay area. I will try a differant recruiter this afternoon.
