MCElroy, PGT or Builders Transport Co.!!

Any drivers with info on the above. I am from south Alabama. Thanks.

I've been with PGT for 6 months now. They aren't taking on students right now, but there are rumors that they might at some point in the future. But if you have at least 6 months of flatbed exp. you're good.

Feel free to ask any questions or PM me.

Can you tell me about PGT so far, likes, ect. have spoken to recruiter, would like to hear from drivers. I was told will be hiring in November, thanks, Runner123.

The two big likes are the Bennie's and the home time.

They have three packages for the benefits depending on how much you want to spend each week and what % you want covered.

And they try their best to get you home every weekend and if you need to be home it's almost money. It might just be time enough for you to reset, but it's better than sitting in a T/S.

The trucks are Internationals and are what they are. Not much, but they get you where you need to be and the upkeep has been pretty good for me. I have more than enough room for all my crap with some left over.

Trailers are good. Depending on how much you drop and hook you will get stuck with the occasional bad one, but they tend to be few and far between.

The dispatching all depends on who you get. I run out of Lonestar, TX and love both of mine. Chances are good that you'll be out of Birmingham with Dave and Mike. Both have been really good to me every time I go though there. If DaveP sees this he might be able to tell more about that.

Anything bad I can say, most say about every company. Wait time between loads can be long at times (depending on where you are and if they're trying to get you home). The 34 hour weekend can really suck when that's all get for three weeks in a row.

That's all I can think of right now.
Hope it helps.

Yeah...I see it

dsd is right. The bennies ARE excellent.

Probably the best insurance for the lowest cost to me I've had in years.

And yes...Mike Olsen told me this evening that we'd be taking on students again...just not in the numbers at one time as we were doing before.

Home time was something I wasn't real happy with at first but I've seen a marked improvement since Mike Olsen came down from Monaca and took over the dispatching duties in B'ham. Although this week-end is gonna be one of those short ones.

I dropped in Fairfield this afternoon then went to the yard and did a "drop-n-hook" for a 2 drop load of some small cast pipe in Minnesota for Monday.

How do I like PGT?

Looking for something else is probably the last thing on my mind right now!

Later...gotta go "relax" as fast as I can...

I was in Birmingham on Friday morning and meant to ask about the students, but when I got in for my load check I was in a hurry to get back on the road and on the way home I forgot.

It's good to hear that they are.
